The Panov used to be interesting to play although over the last 20 years it's become too theoretical for me to keep up with, especially since I rarely play e4

True, @OnkelOnkel. Thankfully, though, at our level, that theory doesn't matter all that much

@bn146 Matters to me a great deal last time I played the panov was a must win tournament game, I ended up worse out of the opening and fighting for a draw against a lower rated player. I can think of better ways to spend six hours
