If a player is losing a match, they have the option of not playing anymore and they will not lose.
That's why most people only play them Casual.
If they do not play anymore, even in Casual, it clutters your screen so the only way to delete them, is by resigning.
I think unlimited time does run out eventually, but I'm not sure how long it is.
The idea of unlimited, in my opinion, was to help with people who wouldn't be on/available within the time constraints of correspondence
If there is no move within a month, the person whose turn it was should lose.

yes it is - at least in the mobile version you cannot choose this option
