Berserking is not balanced

I seriously don't understand the problem. I think he doesn't understand the idea of berserking. It only halves the persons time that chooses that option. It makes it harder for that person because....well, they have less time! Such a strange complaint....
Strong and experienced players win tournaments anyway, and often by a huge margin, so I don't see what's different with the berserk button. I would say it is balanced enough.

I don't play tournaments myself but when I watch strong players in a stream they rarely use berserk to gain an advantage score wise. The few points this usually do not matter.
I don't see the thing you are Crying about MarkCavendish.
Because what you are saying is simply complete crap, forcing to beserk every game is a stupid idea why? Well lets say you are 2200 and beserk for the hole tournament and suddenly you play against 2400 and he doesnt beserk and you will get crushed.

So next time you wont beserk and in this system beserking will almost never happen again

And you may ask why do people then beserk to Lower rated players only? simply becuase they are better and need less time to beat them.

In short beserking does not increase the change for the higher rated player to win or does it change the sitoution. It only gives less time to the beserker and this will be a slight edge for the other but it is surely worth the extra point
I don't see how this argument "opponent doesn't use all his time" is fixable. Even if there was no berserk option then the stronger opponent could still move fast and use a fraction of his time to "cripple" your think-ahead-on-his-move-time (well it's not yours, but his time).
#10 It's true that much weaker players dont have that many chances, but they certainly have more than if the player didn't beserk. I understand the problem that you are pointing out, but forcing players to bezerk in every game will reduce the amount of beserked games, so it will also reduce the games where lower rated players have more chances. It will be counter productive.
For example, me as a 2100 I often beserk players below 1700. This is why i 've lost many games from them but stilli cant stop XD. If I was forced to beserk on all the games, and I saw a 2200 in the starting list i would probably choose not to. But that will take away the opportunity (or at least reduce the chances) of a 1700 beating me.
#11 Ikr ! I've learnt that the hard way after losing 50 - 100 points from one tournament plus the lost streak, just because I was going for that one more point. lol Still, it make the game more intense and fun, which is the reason I play bullet, so I think I won't stop :)
I suspect that the beserk option makes it more fun for stronger players to join. Honestly win or lose I appreciate having more strong players in a tournament. And when I beserk against a weaker player I enjoy it and appreciate the chance to rack up points so I have a chance to place in tournaments or catch up in tournaments that've started. I hover in the 1700s usually but in the past week I've won a tournament and placed 2nd in a tournament because I beserked.
The entire point of a tournament is to find out who the strongest players of that moment in time are.

So even IF this option particularly helps strong players, then that is a good thing.
I LOVE berserk, in fact I think it should have a TWO point bonus. I always play well against good players who berserk me, I've an enviable record against them... including a fortuitous win vs Eric Hansen. It's just the ordinary level players I struggle with :D
