So what happened to the Secret Queen chess variant?

I looked up the word “secret queen chess variant” and it brought me to a supposed announcement listing in Lichess saying this site was going to start offering this new variant. And then nothing. No Hidden chess queen variant is on Lichess. Can anybody explain what happened and why this didn’t materialize?

I feel like this was this an aprils fools joke from years ago?

I'm not certain if anybody else understands the pure irony in this statement.

@Curious1 I remember talk about "Hidden Queens" some months, maybe years ago. Somebody linked an external site he had created and I tried a couple of games there and liked it. After a few days, the site seemed pretty much deserted and dead and for a lack of opponents it was not possible to get a game as non-registered anonymous user.
