Threecheck is underrated

I began playing Threecheck a few days ago, and when I just wanted to play a normal 3+0 game, I waited almost 12 minutes for an enemy. Does anyone know, why nobody plays Threecheck?
This problem is still the same with other variants as well. I have to wait sometimes up to few minutes to get a horde game in the lobby. The best way to play variants is probably to compete in hourly arena tournaments, that way your waiting time for getting a game is shorter.

To answer why almost nobody plays three check (or other variants) is probably that everyone is so focused on "real" chess improvement and see variants as waste of time. Many don't seem to understand fun concepts of what chess variants can offer. Hopefully, this helps :)

Nothing normal about that.

Because it's not popular?
I generally avoid any variant that could lead to a "muscle memory" that could harm normal chess. The only variant that is good for development is 960 as it won't form bad habits, but will stimulate creative thinking and not relying on memorized opening.
