How to Stop Blunders: The Ultimate Grandmaster Guide

I like the article. It contains many great tips how to stay focused.
That said, I like to watch other games and consider it a welcome relaxation which reduces the stress and prevents me from calculating too much in my own game. (Indeed, I mostly feel worse and perform worse when there are no other games to be watched, although there might be other reasons as well.) So most of the recommendations work for most players, but there might be some exceptions, as each person is different.
As for the story of the Sämisch - Capablanca game, I heard that Capablanca had an affair with an attractive woman, then his wife arrived, he lost concentration and blundered a piece. (Chessbase also mentions this version.) So the right recommendation might me that one should not cheat his wife. :-)
"Especially when we don’t like playing endgames and consider them boring..."
Soooo relatable lul, top tier article, haven't read one of those in a while, Thanks again
Great article! Reading it thoughtfully will save aspiring gifted chess players so much of their (chess) calm and confidence, both of which are often badly affected by blundering on a regular basis, especially when it happens in the crucial games. Wish the article were published when I was much younger.
On the other hand, the more frequently a not-so-promising chess player will blunder, the earlier he/she will realise that making a good living from chess is not within everyone's capabilities, and so will quit the game to study something else and get a good job or start a business. That's why I'd like to stress the word 'gifted'. Everything has its flip side.

This blog is really amazing and I will start looking at it again before my tournaments. I think it will really help me stay in shape.
