I've dropped in rating quite a bit over the last couple months and this is not my highest rated opponent in Jan but, I'm proud of this checkmate :)

Here I tried out an offbeat opening I learned about in a blog post by @vatnos. It turns into a French structure. The theme in the end is white not recapturing a piece, but instead going for mate.
