why did opposite side castling got so popular in the past few days?

<Comment deleted by user>
I can't talk for others but accidentally I just played one too. I was never much into castling queenside but in my first LoneWolf game on Saturday, the position just seemed to ask for it so I gave it a try. As far as I can say, it went quite well so if there are more opportunities, I'm willing to do it more often in the future.
IMO

If white most times kingsides the best, if your black its better to do it on the queenside.

I encoutered to be crushed very fast when i play opening on the kingside for black and do rockade there.

Most horrible opening might be F5 for black.
Really? Opposite castling has become popular recently? Maybe there was some movie.
That's because the move was only invented a few months ago, at the most recent meeting of FIDE's "How Can We Change the Rules to Make the Game More Popular?" committee. Since then, they've been busy making up games with queenside castling to insert into old chess books, just to convince people it's always been there. Revisionist history, that's all it is.
Don't worry about it though, it looks like the rule isn't here to stay. It hasn't gotten FIDE a TV contract yet, and if it doesn't work by April first, they going to go back to the old way.
oh You re from Japan, I love Anime from there very Much!I think it's natural. PPl want to try something new, and got tired of same king side casteling xDso if few ppl played vs each other like that , so they like it , and thought why not? and then many ppl saw that and thought that maybe, And can be weather influencing too, in there was a Sun Activity not recent ago, that could also influence

idk everyone has always seemed to love doing it against me for some reason, also people have always been forgetting to castle too.
