Alternatives to Chess Position Trainer?

I am looking for an alternative to Chess Position Trainer because it has some major glitches and it seems that they have discontinued support. Otherwise it was perfect for me. Does anyone know of an alternative programs out there that would allow me to:

- Create my own opening repertoire

- Train with spaced repetition

Note that I am doing this because I greatly enjoy it, not because it's the best way to improve my chess (it isn't).

I have tried the Openings Trainer on chesstempo, but it lacks many of the features of Chess Position Trainer.

Thanks!
You can try Chessable.com. You can export your CPT files and import them into a custom repertoire, and then Space Reptition away. Note that the default spaced repetition timer is different from CPT: it starts at 4 hours, and then increases to 24hours, then multiple days. This is either a blessing or a curse: it lets you train multiple times a day if desired, but if you don't want to / can't, then you aren't getting the most out of it. Compare that with CPT, where generally you had one training session a day.

There's also a few lichess inspired ones. http://www.studyopenings.com/ is an example, though I don't think it uses spaced repetition. There may be others. Hopefully someone can chime in.
Thank you both, both your posts. opened possibilities. paraphrasing some below for those new to this, and myself.

I knew about chessable, and also like the pedagogical efforts there (even sticking to free tier).

I did not know about CPT=Chess Position Trainer
I am curious about what it could do, and about alternatives, that are local, preferably. i will start searching.

Is CPT the only scheduling interface local software out there, and is chessable the only web site having incorporated that basic psychological knowledge from 20 years ago?

I do seek such well packaged training interfaces, time but also difficulty adaptability, interactive, not like a TV stream (not a critique, it is just how i learn best)

#1. Is the free version, still interesting? And, is this thread a last resort, or a first approach, i.e. you have searched already elsewhere and are having a hard time finding solution. because i am going to CPT site, and search around. if hopeless, i would pace my effort.

Also, can you tell me a bit about the nature of the gllitches, or if that's documented, where?
I can recommend Chess Repertoire Trainer for Android. You can import your PGN and he lets you play through the given variations and you have to play the move you give him for white in that position
Hi dboing,

CPT is quite powerful and has a lot of options that chessable doesn't have, as far as I can tell. It's also a nice interface (standalone desktop program). It is built for you to establish a repertoire (either openings or positions), identify the correct moves you would want to make, and then use their training module to train those moves. So it doesn't have "difficulty adaptability" since you are pre-determining all the correct answers. I like this aspect because I enjoy making my own decisions on what I would want to do in a certain opening or position. I am using the paid version, not sure what the free version does.

Yes, this thread is a last resort -- I have been searching for alternatives. I hadn't tried chessable, which I am doing now.

The major glitches with CPT are:
- They seem to have stopped offering support and I'm not sure they are making any more updates. Not good for the long term.
- Their spaced repetition system more than doubles with each successful move, and there is no upper limit. So you do frequent training when first training a position, but then you get to a point where you need to wait many months to train it again. This defeats the purpose for me, I need to see a complicated position at least every 2-3 months.
- The biggest one is that there is a problem in which for no apparent reason some positions are skipped in the training. If you restart the training immediately after you finish, they will then come up, but there's no way to know that positions have been skipped. More importantly though, these positions are also skipped if you want to train an opening outside of the scheduled training mode and there is no way to see them. So you basically can't train an opening when you want to, which is a fatal flaw to me.
jonesmh -- thanks for those links, I'm not sure how I missed those while google searching. I would like to try Chess Openings Wizard, but I get an error message every time I attempt to sign up for the free trial.
