Bobby Fischer VS Garry Kasparov

No, Bobby played no game from 1972, when Garry was 9 years young to 1992, when he only played another match with Boris. After that Bobby played no other recorded game.

Judit Polgar repeatedly challenged/invited Fischer to play her but he never replied.

He did come out of retirement for a repeat of the Spassky match. I think that match was the basis for the U.S. government prosecuting him for violation of sanctions against Yugoslavia.
I had thought he played a training match with them but i was incorrect. He played a Training match in Sveti Stefan vs Gligoric in 1992 (+6=3-1)
He did play the polgars, but that was in chess960, and they did not record their games
They didn’t play any official games, nor did Fischer and Karpov play any. The unknown is always cause for speculation and wonderment. What we do know is that Fischer played a match with a player well past his prime in 1992 who was around the 100th highest rated at the time of the event and he won. We also know he had not kept up a serious study of chess til that time, and that Gligoric gave him many games (thousands) of Fischer former repertoire to brush up on prior to the match and said Fischer seemed both surprised and dismayed by the volume of games presented to him (consequently this may have given him further reason to decry modern chess as “dead” due to theory).

It’s all speculation but it seemed like Fischer was getting his feet wet in a safe environment for a massive (and possibly financially necessary) payout to at least toy with the idea of resuming to the chess scene, but with his high profile and everything in his mind to possibly lose, he couldn’t overcome the fears and completely withdrew from the chess scene again after the match. My personal opinion was had he felt better about his play and more confident he could reestablish himself near the top level quickly, he may have resumed more chess play- at least in special matches such as with Boris, for exorbitant fees.

Fischer and Morphy have some strange similarities to their lives in a tragic way. It’s unfortunate the chess community missed out on both of those players potential games and feats and what history may have been like had they both continued playing on longer. We’ll never know for sure, but we can always pause and speculate at times about it. Perhaps they both intentionally meant for that to happen, keeping the community in suspense of their moves unplayed.
