how do i text a game position to someone on their phone?

hope it can be done

Go to the board editor, set it up (making sure to select who has the move -- it defaults to White -- along with any castling or en passant rights), click "analysis", then copy-paste the URL.

Do this in your browser, as the app will not give you an address.

i tried this and the person received a link , not the actual position.

hard to believe lichess hasnt figured this out

@bolarpear you can copy the FEN. "rnbqkbnr/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/RNBQKBNR w KQkq - 0 1" for example is starting position.

i treid that but it doesnt give the person the position

@bolarpear How do you mean? You can copy the code to any analysis on Lichess.org or chess.com.

If you want to have like a picture of it you can make a printscreen of the position and upload it to prnt.sc.
