Searching for a good, fast mouse

the type of mouse you use doesn't affect your gameplay tbh
Zowie FK2 is a great mouse that took me a while to adjust to but feels really good once you get used to it. It's a lot better than a cheap mouse imo. Also when you get it with the right mousepad it just smoothly glides across the surface, you can get really fast speeds.

> Technically a wired mouse is best, I know the cord gets tangled, but wireless mice have a 8-16 millisecond delay compared to the wired mice, which could be a matter of life or death if you're an avid ultrabullet player. So to recap: If you play bullet or faster use a wired mouse, otherwise I don't think it makes a difference.

That might be the case with some wireless mice, but the one I use (g502 lightspeed) has no difference in delay compared to the wired version, which has been proven through tests by Logitech. So there is no reason for me not to use a wireless mouse and avoid the annoyance of a cable getting in the way during a time scramble. (which used to happen to me on occasion with my old wired mouse)

Haven't returned much of anything because I don't think i kept the box etc ... but yeah gonna try again ... my right click is not so good for my business & would like a better mouse for Chess also so I have been looking at this Post ... Interesting thank you

> I would recommend the mouse you use currently. It saves you the hassle and money of having to buy a new one, and besides, the best mice out there are probably only a bit better than normal ones. You can get over this problem easily by playing blitz or rapid, you have more thinking time, so you can play better, analyse your mistakes and therefore improve, and you don't have to worry about being flagged at the very end.

Although I agree that the mouse doesn't matter too much for chess, I did develop mild wrist problems from playing too much ultra bullet with an office mouse that was too heavy for me :(

That being said, I use the Logitech g305 lightspeed, which is a flatter and relatively lighter wireless mouse. From what I've read, there isn't a significant difference in input latency for wireless mice these days: www.youtube.com/watch?v=orhb7Njj3h8

At least, the input latency isn't noticeable to me (I exclusively blame bad wifi now).
Logitech is a good brand. I use the g203 which I would consider an entry level gaming mouse and certainly has what you need. 1000hz polling rate. and up to 8000 dpi if thats what you mean by fast.
For very fast time controls, the two main factors I would personally look for (this is just me. others may have different needs/wants) are: one that is comfortable (for example, factors like hand size and mouse size come into play), and one that has an adjustable DPI (for example, a mouse with an option to adjust DPI in small/low increments of 50 would be, in my experience, a luxury because that would give you a lot of flexibility with choosing the board size you prefer). Again, it's not about having the max DPI that's best, because that would mean an extremely sensitive mouse that probably no one can really play with, but rather, the option to adjust dpi in small/low increments. For example, I play with a DPI of 550, but I can change the settings to 450 or 500 or 600 etc. if I wanted to (but I am already used to 550 and prefer it, so I just stick with 550). Also, I would personally go with a mouse that is not wired, because a mouse that is not wired is more comfortable and does help—for me, at least. If you'd like to know the exact brand and model of my mouse, I can provide it, but it is a small mouse, so it might not be good for medium or large hands (also, you might want to take into account what type of grip you use when choosing a mouse).
Well, if you are using a laptop, you can very well use the touchpad. I don't use a mouse. I use the touchpad even for ultrabullet. It works very well. But Slips once or twice with very sticky or wet fingers.
