@ultramuddish though i have a hard time imagining kramnik looking hippie like. If someone said i give you 20 bucks, what guy looks most serious. I would have said kramnik.

Maybe not all, but in general, chess deserves every critic. When you hear a master fish seller, and he tell you what month they are fat, and when do the fatty ones test better and when the lean ones. You get a special insight and your entusiasm is awoken. His spirit and respect sparks a flame, but when you hear a random crooked chess master or player. You think how bad does a game have to be that not only accepts but welcomes bs.
So sad how all of you are wasting your time on some trash chessplayer trying to get a rise out of people. Just ignore and let he/she/unidentified gender rant on!

I could see how someone like Fischer could be seen as crazy, but how could anyone say anything bad about Anand? He is a perfect gentleman & well grounded.
Chess make me feel better. Any other bad reason?
Chess helps with life lessons. It is not bad.
