have russsian emigres been missinforming american youngsters at chess training

All top players particularly in recent years have expressed the need to analyse both your own games and those of the grandmasters not the need to treat chess like it is just a puzzle by looking at mate in 3 thousands of times. The result of tactics training is players with little positional analytical skills who never get into a position of mate in 3 against the Russian youngsters.

most new players learn positional skills later if at all

The absolute worst kind of puzzles to look at are ones that describe what you are looking for.

For instance "Mate in X"... Nobody is going to stop you in the middle of your game tap you on the shoulder, and say "This is a mate in 3, find the solution!"
Lichess should pay a full–time mythbuster. Because of the sheer number of noobs and inexperienced players there are so many that lichess is drowning in myths.
as a brit who was schooled in the art of chess as a youngster and who was kept well away from kgb elements, I have a thorough understanding of the game and how to cope with its emotional side. Alright America has produced a number of great players in recent times but with the advent of computers they are computer schooled not trained.
Not sure if salty due to a recent loss against a Russian, trolling, or just plain stupid.
You got it right, dude. If there's anything wrong with American chess (is there?), it is the fault of personally Putin. Or even Stalin!
