Magnus Carlsen's Gambit Against Sicilian 2. a3!

It's not necessarily a gambit - it's the non-gambit lines that are annoying for white.

GM Alexei Bezgodov wrote a book on it in 2004.

If 2...a5 end of tricks? Obviously I think that White can play positionally on Black weaknesses b5, c7, etc.
Am I right?
