Atomic allows checkmate positions not possible in orthodox chess, for example:

And what do you do if the opponent doesn’t resign?
I usually make multiple knights and bishops when opponent doesn't resign even with no pieces... Just gotta make sure the stalemates are covered.

Lasker later said something along the lines of
