Preparing for a standard tournament. Have not played in 6 years.

It's a local 1 hour per game, 4 round Swiss System.

How do you regular tourney folks prepare?

I was rated around 1550 then, and while Lichess may give me a possibly inaccurate 2100+ now, I would like to believe I can handle the 1800 at minimum OTB.

Ecstatic I tell ya!
Good luck roni! Just a couple helpful tips... Don't drink sugary stuff before. Its good for a bit then not good after that. Use restroom even if you don't have to before each game. I really like to have a glass of water by my board if possible during the game. Its more of a thing about being prepared and looking like you know what you are doing. Take a walk or run before you start for the day. Exercise will help your brain.
Its may become a personal battle of endurance if you've been out of otb tournaments for that long.. how long has it been since you played 6-8 hours of chess ;). Best of luck!
1 hour a game for both is not that much I go and play 2 games of 45 per person each on wednesday and a 90 minutes +30 tournament every so often
Thanks for the tips #2 and #3. Much appreciated.

So then I think it will come down to endurance more than anything. I'll be sure pace myself and choose solid structures and minimize tactical fistfights.

Luckily, I'll be coming in with a deceptive 1554 rating that day, so I hope they grossly underestimate me. ;)
You should play as you usually do. Rating will come from performance not other way around. So if you don't normally "choose solid structures and minimize tactical fistfights." I suggest you don't try it on otb games either.

So you really can't do any magic tricks before otb tournaments. Just have fun and try your best.
1550 CFC is stronger than 1550 FIDE, and definetly stronger than 1550 on lichess.

as a person in that range, I could handle up to 1800 CFC.

I realized in CFC tournaments, its good to avoid children.
They may have low ratings sometimes but they improve super fast (hides their real rating).
and this can lower your rating.

get used to using 3 D board and pieces if you've only been playing on net w/ 2 D interface
