Personally, I would say to be liked is better.
Becuase, I kind of feel uncomfortable with respected by someone, and it might even make me feel impatient.
But 'liked' sounds more causal to me, so I don't have any complains about it.
And lastly, I want people to treat me as a friend, not role model or something.
