The Candidates in 12 Graphs

Brilliant post!!
Takeaways:

This is pure statistical evidence that Gukesh is deserving of this title! Nobody showed the same level of dominance and consistency in all 14 rounds.

Nepo is a behemoth at defense.

Vidit and Firouzja have a very volatile style leading to many decisive games.
Great post as always.

Would be good to see the better equal worse graph normalized(?) at 40 moves.
Well said! This clearly shows how well they played in Candidates. It proves that their worse positions lead to a lose, except from Nepo's.

I thought about showing the percentages, which would have made the comparison easier. I decided to stick with the total number of moves, since it also shows how many moves each player has made in the tournament. But maybe it's better to split them into to graphs or tables in the future.

I focused on the open since analysing all these games with LC0 and Stockfish already took multiple hours and I wanted to finish the post at least somewhat close to the end of the Candidates. I'm working on an evaluation database in order to speed up the analysis for future events. Then I'll be able to analyse more games and include more tournaments.
One stat that would be interesting to see is: very good positions vs points scored from those.

My impression was that Vidit could have scored much better had he taken the chances he was given.

Great idea, thank you.
I've updated the post, so you can see the graph there.
