I lost to a ≈1400 :-(

It happens. Often times if I lose to a weaker opponent myself they just had a good game, and I was not playing at 100%. Seems like the case here for you as well.
It happens, man. Federer has just lost against a much weaker player. :-)
FC Barcelona lost to Sevilla, 1-2, last saturday.
You should never be sad about losing to either a higher rated player, or a lower rated player.... nor should you be happy to win.

The only thing that matters is consistency - and your rating will reflect that.

If you continually beat higher rated players, your rating will be higher... yet, you will still lose to higher rated players. There is no satisfaction to be had, unless you're the best... but at that point, you're making money from playing - so it's a job, and we all know what a job is.
Well, that can happen sometimes. Not that long ago my blitz rating was around 1700. (I'm a hair above 1800 in standard). Yesterday I tried playing blitz and I just didn't have it in me. I was tired, I had a headache, I took too much time on my clock. (If you're asking "then why did you play?", that's a good question). Anyway, during that period I lost to an 1100 dude. That's how bad it was. So don't get discouraged. It happens.
carlsen was losing to 1400s some time ago
no big deal man
Since it was a classic game, then it's not that big of a deal. First you got into an annoying pin. Instead of trying to defend and getting out of the knot (first castle and then move the queen away, you had enough tempi for that) you tried to apply blitz strategy for a classic game lashing out with g4-g5 and later in the game some hope-chess tricks :).
