White was winning after the opening: one more pawn, safer king. Why did not you repeat moves with 34...Qc2+? With 44 d5 white would have won. After 69...Kxe6 it is a draw indeed. Maybe white played on out of inertia or out of nostalgia for the forlorn won position.
