Rude not to give takeback?

Hello,
my opponent just requested a takeback that I didn't allow. Is that rude? I don't like the option of takebacks in generally, but should I allow takebacks if asked for?
Thanks for your oppinion!
I turned them off.

I don't ask or give takebacks. All OTB tournament players understand this, people who have no experience of OTB chess with official rules sometimes take it personally, but I don't care.
Oh God not this again!
OP you did the right thing. The only rude one was your opponent interrupting the flow of the game to ask for an illegal takeback.
Imagine if in a football match one team messes an attack and then comes up with an idea that they should get the ball back because they could've played the attack better.
I give take back in the cases where i think that.my opponent miss clicked while moving his pieces ex the sequance of play the we r trading queens and for some reason the that was going to capture ex rockended up infront of the queen instead of capturing it then it obvious misclicking fault and i give the takeback if asked by.my oponnent
I don't because I don't want to encourage my opponents' sloppiness and/or laziness.
Uh whatever u want... Plus takebacks can be useful if the opponent mouse slipped (or if you mouseslipped).
I don't ask for takebacks, and I don't give them. I've disabled the setting, and I've disabled chat, so they can't even ask for it.

IMO, if you cannot deal with handling the consequences of your move/mouseslip, turn move confirmation on.
