The internet has changed the world forever. In many ways, probably even most ways, positively. In some ways, not at all for the better.
"Record stores" used to abound, and they were very pleasant places to be. Now? I suppose well-groomed hipsters who carefully articulate all the "right" viewpoints can still find and pay exorbitant amounts for "vinyl" and convince themselves and those they can get to listen that their ears can "tell the difference."
But I'd be hard-pressed to find a real music store now, at least in the old sense of the words.
The world has gone to hell in a hand basket! Get off my lawn, kids!
Cream. Led Zeppelin. Moody Blues. Jimi. Janis. Stones. Art Tatum. Monk. Coltrane. Miles. Herbie. Evans. Brubeck.
Accept no substitutes for mastery.
EDIT: Wait, I forgot some obvious players: Gould. Argerich. Richter. Rubinstein. Horowitz. Brendel. Uchida. Schiff. Wang. Perahia. Oh, I'm not done, but I'm sick of typing.
