Best client to play on lichess

Hello all,

I suffer these days from a severe lag on lichess. So i tried to use a client so i can play on server, but this seem to not work. Is there any preferable client to run lichess?

Thanks for your input.
Best regards,

Can you even play on any other interface then web? I assume if you can code you could try and add a interface, but what do I know
There is no official way to create an interface for playing; the API does not support it (with the logic that it would make cheating with engines easier). It is possible to create one, but it would just be going through the lichess website anyway the same way a browser would, so you would get the same lag unless it's only rendering the pieces that's causing it for you. If that's the case, a userscript may be able to help, although I'd need more information as to what exactly is causing the problem.
Hello,

Thanks all for the feedback ,maybe the rendering is the cause of the lag. Is there a way to lower that ?

Thanks and regards

Blindfold mode reduces the rendering of the pieces to 0, though it may be hard to play.
#4 : I believe the pieces are rendered in SVG when using 2D themes, but use raster images in 3D. If 3D is faster than 2D for you, I suggest upgrading your browser to something that handles SVG rendering better. Otherwise, it seems very odd for me that there would be any rendering lag unless your computer has worse specs than most budget phones.

Any chance we could get information on your basic computer hardware specs, OS, browser, and maybe a guess at the average ping numbers you're seeing (by clicking your name and looking at the ping number listed in the menu, maybe a few times over the course of the day)?
Actually, it is more a network issue than anything else, the day i opened this thread the lag was up to 1.5 ~2 s here is a screen shot.

Now it is better and oscillating around 150 ~ 200ms
