Team Battle mode

Is it possible to choose who the leaders would be in the team battle mode or does the computer decide e.g. by rating?

The leaders will always be determined according to the individual ranking, i.e. the 6 top scoring players of each team in a team tournament with 6 leaders.

How does the computer rank provisional players vs non provisional players?

The leaders are being determined dynamically according to the scored points during the tournament:

If gorand had scored one more win, he would have been the fifth leader instead of Andrey200919, regardless of rating.

The rating is only relevant for the starting list before the start of the tournament. Provisional players are included as if they'd have a regular rating:

But the ten leaders listed here won't stay the same throughout the tournament. After each finished game the leaders are being determined anew according to the scored points. If e.g. kingLM_2007 were the first to win a game, he would rise to be first leader due to his two tournament points, regardless of rating, and Capital11 would no longer be a leader.
