How I Beat a 2100 Over-the-Board — AS BLACK!

The previous week we were laughing at how I had to defeat him as Black. I had faced him twice before and lost both times. I didn't think it was possible.

With a little patience, today I managed to walk away with the win.

Here's how I lived to tell the tale of defeating an opponent over-the-board, in person, that was 300 points stronger than me in USCF Chess Rating. I discuss what I did to prepare for the match, how I challenged him and the importance of staking for the center.

The game, for those that want to follow it on Lichess:

Wonderful game..Congratulations..but I had a feeling that your opponent missed a crucial opportunity to dominate the game on the 17th move..keep up the good work!
'we were laughing at how I had to defeat him as Black.'
Are you sure its 'we' not 'you' lol. Would it 'kill' you to stop bragging?
Being 2200 suggests that you have a better understanding of the game than most people but there are still a lot of players out there who are better than you. There's always room for improvement!
@ChemicalMind What move do you mean? If 17.Nxe5 or Qxe5 I win at least the exchange.

@KKJ_KC2fangirl398 I've just only begun to understand the importance of the center in chess, and I've been playing for 20+ years! I'm definitely a late bloomer.
@MrCalderon yes you're right..you still have the advantage after 17.Qxe5 but that could create some tricky maneuvers later in the game..anyway good effort!!
