On the patron site (en.lichess.org/patron) you can chose to either donate one time or once a month :)
Donating gets you one month of patron.

No, choosing one time will only give you the patron logo for one month, then you'll revert back to the circle.
If you donate, you have the wing for 1 year, not 1 month.

Since lichess gets more money if you donate once instead of several times (because of the PayPal fee) I think patron should be about the amount you donate not about how often you donate.
