  1. jaybir it seems to me that the critical line is Be3 Nd7 Nd5 Bxd5 exd5 and i have to find a good spot for my knight
  2. jaybir Nd4 Bxd4 Qxd4 Bf6 skewer but Qe2+ gets out of it
  3. jaybir Qxd4 Rxc2 seems artificial as many pieces are en prise and my king is still in the middle
  4. jaybir was planning 17 ..Qa8 but Nd5 neutralizes the attack on e4 and gives him time to play c4 after which stabilizes his queenside
  5. jaybir where all my counterplay is
  6. jaybir So 19.Nxd4 Rxc3 Ne2 Rc7 Qd3 is the position i'm looking at
  7. jaybir so i didnt see all that but it seems that i have some compensations with the bishop pair
  8. quirked this is a scary pawn to take
  9. jaybir I have to play on the dark squares. If he takes, at the very least i have c2, but Rh8 gets active too
  10. jaybir e5 Bxe5 Bxc6 Qxc6 and i have all kind of threats on his king
  11. jaybir at least it's dangerous
  12. jaybir just hoping he doesnt see Qb8
  13. jaybir yeah i forgot that Bg7 move
  14. quirked gg
  15. HNorbi96 oh, g5 was working for you
  16. HNorbi96 i was worried about my bishop being trapped for quite some moves
  17. jaybir well i never considered it
  18. jaybir wow 20.. Nxe4
  19. HNorbi96 nice
  20. HNorbi96 tricky move to find
  21. HNorbi96 this Rxh3 after Nxe4
  22. jaybir yeah.. thats why you have to be sharp to play this opening haha
  23. HNorbi96 yeah, it can be pretty sharp
  24. jaybir do you often get this type of position?
  25. jaybir after g3 i'm already out of book
  26. HNorbi96 yeah i play this a lot
  27. HNorbi96 i thought you had prepared for this
  28. jaybir well yeah the first few moves
  29. HNorbi96 you played pretty fast in the opening
  30. jaybir but i don't have a feeling for the position
  31. jaybir it's something to know by heart some moves but you have to understand them deeply with the plans ...
  32. jaybir which to me comes from experience in said lines
  33. jaybir in playing said lines
  34. jaybir well thanks for the game and good continuation
  35. HNorbi96 yeah its hard to play if you are not too familiar with the position
  36. HNorbi96 but i made a lot of mistakes too
  37. HNorbi96 17. Nge2 was so passive
  38. jaybir i thought so
  39. HNorbi96 i hated it as soon as i played it
  40. jaybir but i don't have obvious breaking points
  41. jaybir now i know g5 is one haha
  42. HNorbi96 you mean pawn brakes?
