  1. steili These guys are blitzing :P
  2. Zher0 indeed
  3. steili Nc3 and white seems to have gotten a nice edge
  4. Zher0 yes i agree
  5. Zher0 i think c3 was bad but to take on d4 wasnt great either but idk for sure
  6. Zher0 Bd3 now i think is needed
  7. Zher0 the position looks good for white here
  8. steili These guys should just join a blitz arena.. hehe. But it can be hard to play longer time controls if you're just used to fast online play
  9. Zher0 yes that's right, ia lso have to restrain myself all the time when i play the league
  10. Zher0 but even if i do im unfocused and blunder my Knight in the 6th move
  11. steili hehe
  12. steili I haven't played the league before. Will play my fist game in the 45 league next week
  13. Zher0 cool
  14. steili I would've preferred d5 here instead of d6
  15. Zher0 yes and then c6 somewhen later
  16. Zher0 as for white i would have played Qf3 but this might work here
  17. steili hmm
  18. Zher0 black is tricky
  19. steili I don't like this for black
  20. Zher0 not sure what black is up to
  21. steili Hm, this is a self pin
  22. Zher0 yes that cant be good
  23. steili well, he can take the knight with check
  24. steili and he has Bc4
  25. Zher0 yes indeed
  26. steili But I would've tried to get in Bg5 first
  27. Zher0 yes that would have been better
  28. Zher0 so black has to play Nxd5?
  29. steili It seems the easiest, but that leaves his kingside a bit undefended
  30. steili I think I like this more
  31. steili Or hmm.. I dunno :P
  32. Zher0 yes taking with check is a bit pointless
  33. steili You never want to take on f6 unless you have a specific reason to
  34. steili The knight on d5 is the best piece on the board
  35. Zher0 that is absolutely correct :D
  36. Zher0 thats why youre 1900 and im not :P
  37. steili hehe
  38. Zher0 but i'll get there
  39. steili Pro tip: Play OTB if you have the chance
  40. steili It helps a lot
  41. Zher0 yes i have been playing but not constantly tho
  42. Zher0 what helped me a lot is playing the same opening over and over again, i've played the dutch over 100 times in the last 2 months
  43. Zher0 by now i feel really comfortable playing it, earier i had a game over 24 moves, no mistakes no bluders 2 inaccuracies
  44. Zher0 21acpl
  45. steili That's awesome
  46. Zher0 yes that was pretty good
  47. steili Perhaps white can try a plan with f4 e5 here
  48. Zher0 f4 certainly should be considered here
  49. steili at some point at least
  50. Zher0 yes
  51. Zher0 but i think a3 was a cool move at least winning a pawn as it seems
  52. steili hmm
  53. steili it seems a bit dangerous to take b7, but since you get a tempo on the bishop it might workl
  54. Zher0 yes white has to be careful not to trap the queen
  55. steili hmm, this just loses a pawn it seems
  56. Zher0 but white has to be careful with the b pawn after something like Rb8
  57. Zher0 black might get the pawn back
  58. steili White has Bd4 in the end I believe
  59. steili Or just Qd4
  60. Zher0 yes
  61. steili Or just move the queen here, white has lots of options
  62. Zher0 are they still playing too fast?
  63. steili Black is playing way too fast
  64. steili White is also playing a bit fast jmmo
  65. steili imo
  66. steili lol, there's 2 pawns - I need to work on my counting skills
  67. steili Also a7 hangs now
  68. Zher0 but b2 is hanging also
  69. steili Yea that's true
  70. steili The queen is nearly trapped though
  71. Zher0 but Rb1 Qa3 Qa1 looks dangerous
  72. Zher0 Qa4 sorry
  73. Zher0 Rb1 Q3 Ra1
  74. Zher0 sorry again
  75. Zher0 can i not type 3 moves correctly??
  76. steili hehe
  77. Zher0 -_-
  78. steili I know the feeling
  79. Zher0 but even if white plays Rb1 Q can go back to f6
  80. steili I'm looking at Qxb2 Bd4 Qd2 but it seems like the queen is running away
  81. Zher0 yes i kept forgetting about Bd4!
  82. Zher0 a move i would not find so easily
  83. steili White should be winning here
  84. Zher0 should be yes
  85. Zher0 no offense to the players but its interesting that once someone is in trouble he takes his time to think
  86. steili Perhaps something like Qxb2 Bd4 Qd2 f4! could work. Queen has no squares and Ra2 is threatened
  87. Zher0 althought its too late by then
  88. steili yea
  89. Zher0 i do the same
  90. steili I generally use too much time. Perhaps it'¨s because I started playing chess when I was almost 30 :P
  91. Zher0 i started late also, but i play too fast and too greedy sometimes
  92. steili Rxa2 or Qd4 here I'd say
  93. Zher0 i'd got for Rxa2
  94. Zher0 go
  95. steili yea I probably me too. Bb5 and Qa2
  96. steili Qd4 is a bit dangerous given the opposite colored bishops
  97. Zher0 altought considering white is 2-3 pawns up exchanging Q might be good
  98. Zher0 3 since Black didnt take on b2
  99. steili Qc7 seems strong here
  100. Zher0 yes very
  101. steili Back rank ideas now for white
  102. Zher0 what can black do now?
  103. Zher0 i'd probably resign
  104. steili Rd8 and hope for the best
  105. Zher0 or play Rf8
  106. Zher0 Rd8 ok
  107. steili Both is equally good (or bad :p)
  108. Zher0 hehe
  109. Zher0 but i like Rd8
  110. steili I dinno. Perhaps it's better not to bind up your queen to the defense of the rook
  111. Zher0 yes that might be a disadvantage soon
  112. Zher0 after idk Bb6
  113. steili Black has to realize now that he has a back rank issue and isnt threatening Rxe4
  114. steili No, you don't want to lose the exchange.. :P
  115. Zher0 yes thats what i thought when i thought about Re8
  116. Zher0 right that B is still on b5
  117. steili I mean black is threatening Bxf1
  118. Zher0 wouldnt have Ra1 been better?
  119. Zher0 idk this is complicated
  120. steili No, then the rook would hang after Qxb2
  121. Zher0 youre totally right
  122. steili Perhaps Rc1 would've been better
  123. Zher0 yes i thought of that but i couldnt make it work
  124. steili White is playing good here
  125. steili Black has no counterplay
  126. Zher0 all the pieces are uncoordinated
  127. Zher0 no threats at all
  128. Zher0 and a back rank issue
  129. Zher0 not to mention being 3 pawns down
  130. steili this will be quite the upset given the rating difference
  131. Zher0 yes black will not be pleased
  132. Zher0 the passed pawns could come in handy soon
  133. Zher0 if white can advance them anyhow
  134. Zher0 now what Rf1?
  135. steili Rf1 Bxf1..
  136. Zher0 right
  137. Zher0 but what else can white do?
  138. steili wow, is this some kind of a weird perpetual
  139. Zher0 Rf1 Bx Kx Qd1# or am i hallucinating?
  140. steili It seems like white has to play Ra1/b1 and go for a perpetual
  141. Zher0 yikes
  142. steili If he can't find a way to sack the exchange
  143. steili Qb2 and a draw now if I'm not missing something..
  144. Zher0 yes youre right
  145. Zher0 i would have also played 23.Qxd6
  146. Zher0 i didnt see tha black has this
  147. steili Black can even play Rxe4 now perhaps
  148. steili But probably not
  149. Zher0 it looks a bit dangerous but it might work
  150. steili Be3 now
  151. Zher0 yes Be3!
  152. Zher0 then maybe exchange Q's and push the pawns
  153. Zher0 get rid of the bishop 1st
  154. steili Be3 is the only sensible move here, no? I can't see anything else
  155. Zher0 yes
  156. Zher0 i dont see anything else either
  157. Zher0 but im not sure if white finds it
  158. Zher0 i would not have seen it
  159. steili Nah, you would've. It's a "only" move, and with 10 minutes you'll find it
  160. Zher0 but the problem is i would have thought about it for that long :P
  161. Zher0 i would not have*
  162. Zher0 thats what i would have played also
  163. Zher0 Qd8+
  164. steili hmm
  165. Zher0 before you told me about the B move of course
  166. Zher0 but white must see this isnt working
  167. steili Now black wins, no? Re8, white move the queen and Re1, Rxe1 Qxe1#
  168. Zher0 yes
  169. Zher0 oh oh
  170. steili Too bad, white played good
  171. Zher0 yes indeed
  172. Zher0 good game
  173. Zher0 Sf doesnt like Qc7 :P
  174. tork21 Oh man, I really wish I could convert on this one
  175. tork21 Lots of upset potential
  176. Zher0 it wsa close
  177. Zher0 you played good
  178. Zher0 Be3 is so hard to see
  179. Zher0 a very sensible move
  180. tork21 Ty
  181. tork21 I had it drawn on an arrow there
  182. Zher0 as i said i qould have played Qd8 also
  183. tork21 But I couldn't see the followup moves
  184. Zher0 yes, you were better from the beginning
  185. Zher0 yes it was partially very complicated
  186. tork21 I think I need to go with my gut more. I also had 23. f3 on my radar
  187. tork21 I just second guess myself a lot
  188. Zher0 i would have taken on d6 also
  189. Zher0 but greed is punished in chess, i hate chess for that sometimes
  190. tork21 That's why I like playing it lol
  191. Zher0 haha
  192. Zher0 its frustrating to me
  193. tork21 I get that. I enjoy learning by making mistakes and getting punished.
  194. Zher0 i think i have a good move , wining material and then boom; next thing i know is that im clearly worse
  195. tork21 That's why I'm very bad at blitz :P
  196. tork21 I like having lots of time to think about my moves
  197. tork21 Because moves don't really come intuitively to me
  198. Zher0 its all a matter of how well you know the position and how comfortable you feel
  199. tork21 Bingo. I've gotta get going though, I'll catch you around!
  200. Zher0 see you
