  1. alp_arslan92 First vs second place. Nice! bukitmar beat me last round in a nice Caro-Kann. Seems like he ate the second Black in a row.
  2. alp_arslan92 I guess 11.Bd3 Bg4 12.Nd2 is good for White.
  3. alp_arslan92 If Nc4 comes unprepared for Black in these Bf4-setups, the d6-pawn can sometimes be lost right away.
  4. alp_arslan92 11...Re8 12.f3 might be strong. The Bd7 looks quite stupid there.
  5. alp_arslan92 12.Bd3 12...Nxe4 13.Nxe4 13...f5 looks unnecessarily messy, though even that might be good for White.
  6. alp_arslan92 Honestly, after 12.f3 I don't even see good moves for Black...
  7. alp_arslan92 I guess Nh5 is the way
  8. alp_arslan92 Nh5 and f5 maybeß
  9. alp_arslan92 If White gets to play f3, Bd3, 0-0 and Nc4, Black is probably losing. Interesting to see if Black can find solutions!
  10. asdolu Re8 is just too passive. I remember a nice OTB game I once won in this line. Nh5 with f5 to follow would have been the usual chaos.
  11. asdolu BTW I would not recommend going here at all and always to play a6 before Bg7 as Black!
  12. asdolu a4 against a6 is almost always automatic
  13. asdolu still following my old game :-D
  14. asdolu Now my old opponent went Ne5, which I consider positionally bad.
  15. asdolu After Bxe5 dxe5 it was a classic case of good knights vs bad bishop.
  16. asdolu The ideo now is to make use of the weak b6-square. The bad light squared bishop is later rerouted via d1->a4.
  17. asdolu Finally a new move!
  18. asdolu The other game went Red8.
  19. asdolu I still think trading my bad bishop is a good idea, so Be2 here
  20. asdolu No need to hurry here. f3 consolidates the center pawns and makes my pieces mobile. Then I can go after the weak b7 and c5 later.
  21. asdolu Yes, going for f5 is logical. What else could black do?
  22. asdolu Rc2 looks good. Going after c5 as planned and getting out of the "threat" of Nf4.
  23. asdolu What I loved about the other game and this one too is that there is not a lot of deep calculation, just a pure positional squeeze.
