About me

FIDE Master from Turkey, a professional chess player playing for the Turkish League

A mechanical engineer by profession

Playing experience

Two IM norms, represented Turkey in World Youth Championships and other international events, 1st prize at 2015 Nis Open.

Highest OTB scalp: 2672 ELO

Teaching experience

I've been teaching chess to children from 5 to 18 and adults alike for five years. I've coached several children teams as well, with success in Turkish events.

Other experiences

Acted as a commentator several times for events organized by Turkish Chess Federation, worked as a chess journalist for some important tournaments, occasionally being guest to my friend's Youtube channel (satranchess) on chess

Best skills

I try to do the lessons based on active learning. Chess is like mathematics, without solving problems you don't really understand the subject. Also I do the lessons as culturally enriching as possible, with references to chess culture and history as I think it's very important to acquire chess culture to reach new heights.

Teaching methodology

What you expect is the most important, it will be tailored according to your wishes. (General improvement, endgame, opening repertoire etc.) For the start I'd expect you to send me 10 games of over the board classical games of yours (including draws and losses, not just wins), if you have ever played OTB of course. If not online games will do the job as well.

Basically the teaching program will be a mix of lessons via Zoom&Lichess and analysis of your games, with assignments to solve after each lesson. Learning by doing is the most important so I expect commitment when it comes to doing homework. Also you can reach me via e-mail or other mediums 24/7 if you have any questions.
