  1. lumenian [10] I have bad results against the Catalan, but this setup with b3 and Nc3 should not be optimal for white.
  2. lumenian [13] Tough to find a useful move, Ne4 doesn't seem to work. If white goes with 14.e4, I think this will be an okay IQP version for black.
  3. lumenian 16...Bd3 almost trapped the queen, but not quite.
  4. lumenian Another option was 17...Qe7, but the resulting positions looked unclear to me, and potential d5 breaks can be dangerous.
  5. Aidoz Qe7 didnt look too bad, stops Rc1
  6. lumenian I think if I control d5 I should be doing alright.
  7. Aidoz but could be risky i guess
  8. val1313 Hey Aidoz, I am curious about your assessment/opinion on the position ?
  9. Aidoz love blacks position basically
  10. Hausierer yeah put B to d5,Q to b7 fe and great position
  11. Aidoz felt like the bishop was better on a6 going to d3, other bishop going to a3
  12. Aidoz but idk
  13. val1313 thks guys
  14. Hausierer Very easy to play
  15. val1313 BA3 is annoying. Hard to find a good place for the queen
  16. Aidoz yeah its all a question whether white can hold this
  17. Hausierer Trade wsB and white gets more problems
  18. Hausierer Difficult for w, very
  19. Hausierer Every endgame is great for B
  20. Aidoz i guess i understand now why wasting a tempo to put the bishop on d2 is so good in this opening
  21. val1313 I think 14 e4 is the root of white's problems. I don't play this opening but it seems very weakening ?
  22. Hausierer Yes e4 is very optimistic.
  23. Aidoz yeah i dont know about b3 either, but perhaps ng5 instead of taking was better but there might be a probel mwith it
  24. Hausierer b3 and following with e4 ( without taking on d5 ) looks standart
  25. Aidoz ah i see
  26. lumenian 20...Rd8 might be better, but I have hopes of invading the second rank with my queen.
  27. Hausierer Now it is a draw eh
  28. lumenian Didn't see 23...Ng5, that's quite creative.
  29. lumenian 24...Rc1 looks very dull. With Rd8 I can try to put some pressure.
  30. Aidoz wow that is one annoying move
  31. Aidoz but all drawn here it seems
  32. Aidoz not sure if its a draw anymore tbh
  33. Aidoz rip
  34. lumenian I'm studying this game on lichess.org/study/IbYgJyum
