  1. jg777 Since match is already decided I wanted to take this game as a chance to play a more aggressive idea against the Caro. It should be fun.
  2. exirk (9...e5) hmmm. maybe early f4 was necessary? to prevent e5
  3. jg777 so take on e5 is no good to me I think choice is c3, Nc3, or just make castle straight away.
  4. jg777 so how I want to approach this. Nbc3 gives the pawn center away for piece activity, castle makes rush to take e file
  5. jg777 c3 tries for pawn center but if c3 exd cxd c5, I maybe I dont get a pawn center anyway
  6. jg777 so value then would be c3 exd Nxd, but no c3 square for other knight but c2 for d3 bishop if ever c5-c4.
  7. jg777 other consideration is if exd Nxd Qe5+ then do I place Kf2 for Re1 ideas or trade queens on e2 (not good?).. so maybe castle here
  8. jg777 makes a better long term idea?
  9. jg777 Could transpose a bit since 0-0 exd Nxd Qc5 c3 type things
  10. jg777 maybe I am a bit of chicken here but I just think castle is better long term idea and avoid some unwanted ideas black may possibly have
  11. jg777 I don't think e4 is a move for black because fxe dxe Bxe and while my king feels airy black has no pieces to quickly sweep in.
  12. jg777 and if exd Nxd c5, then I move the knight to f5 square which seems nice.
  13. jg777 maybe even slip a Re1 before Nf5 if it goes that way too
  14. jg777 I will be interested in how black approaches the development of his pieces.
  15. jg777 I think in most cases play c3 makes more sense than Nc3 as I can not find a good way to get the knight doing anything from that square
  16. jg777 so I think my continued development would rest on sometime c3 then figure out where the knight goes from B square later.
  17. jg777 ah he wants to clear that E file also. Was wondering if he do that.
  18. jg777 I would like to play dxe Bf4 but if Qxe then if Bf4 Qxb2 and I need to see if there is a compensation for that.
  19. jg777 other candidate for me is c3 which is more a waiting move while keeping most ideas open.
  20. jg777 I wonder if b3 could be a move too, idea is putting DSB on b2 to pressure that diagonal well and later Nd2 c4 ideas.
  21. jg777 but is the d4 square to weak during this time I am not sure. like b3 exd Nxd Qc5 c3 and maybe it looks ok?
  22. jg777 then Qb6 with c5 idea so I could play Kg2 to avoid that pin completely
  23. jg777 since he now castled long these ideas of c4 seem to appeal to me a bit so maybe c3 is to safe here
  24. jg777 i suppose another idea is c3 b4-b5, so its possible to go that route
  25. jg777 ok maybe c3 does have some concrete purpose here it does some nice things with also a long term vision as well. I guess I do this.
  26. jg777 it does give me option to play exd cxd and knight can go to c3 if wanted and then push a pawn down the board ideas too
  27. jg777 yeah so there are ideas here I can work with. I need to make a more concrete decision on if I want to work on the f4-f5 squares or not
  28. jg777 determine if I will focus on pushing queenside stuff or keep things more centralized
  29. jg777 also wonder if I can do something like Qa4 Kb8 Qb3 to entice him a bit before pushing a4
  30. jg777 ok so he wants to make ideas like e5 something to consider
  31. jg777 so do I work to sharpen this or keep things more theoretical and noncommittal yet?
  32. jg777 like dxe if Qxe then Bf4 and queen moves somewhere on E file like e7 lets say. do I like that direction?
  33. jg777 or dxe Nxe Bf4 but I am not sure if I can follow that up with much.
  34. jg777 I am pretty confident g5 is a bad move for me.
  35. jg777 maybe Ng3 is worth consideration
  36. jg777 maybe Ng3 has some flexibility that could be useful
  37. jg777 I would like to have Bf4 on hand, but maybe I am asking to much from the position, I can't have everything here i guess.
  38. jg777 Ng3 h5 would be the move I would expect so I need to figure that idea out
  39. jg777 I think I can play Ng3 h5 then dxe
  40. jg777 well only so much clock to work with here so better make some decisions at a reasonable pace
  41. jg777 I guess if h5 then g5 is a move I can consider too
  42. jg777 since I can meet h4? Nf5 and take f6 so he would have to retreat the knight
  43. jg777 exd here then i think only cxd is available and then i will have semi open C file so it might play out ok for me
  44. jg777 yeah ok so take away the f5 queen attack ideas n and make bf8 option on d6 or maybe push c5
  45. jg777 ok so Qe2 is no good since Re8 Bg5 seems unobjective, no idea where i am going with that move
  46. jg777 I am actually thinking dxe here makes some sense
  47. jg777 well time to see what happens
  48. jg777 Need to figure out how to get the queen pieces into action quickly here
  49. jg777 Likely going to get sharp here and hopefully I can manage to keep up with the calculation responsibilities.
  50. jg777 It probably had been better to play a slower move earlier but oh well lets roll the dice.
  51. jg777 I have to keep ensuring I am not dropping a piece in these lines
  52. jg777 but so far I think I have things covered, Nxf3 is not a move, Nc5 is not a move with BxB, Qb6+Kg2 Qxb2 is the most critical line to me
  53. jg777 ok so I need to keep g3 protected and prepare f4 bishop to relocate a bit
  54. jg777 low on clock time so decided to start trading a bit and make it a little less sharp
  55. jg777 so now I will have to get the rest of my pieces working asap
  56. jg777 I am thinking I have defensive resources but this will be unpleasant for me here
  57. jg777 ok opening h file seems bad so g5 is needed but Nh7 and i think I have to take h7... which gives bishop pair with long term issues
  58. jg777 Well lets see if I get mated here or not, I don't see it myself but it does look a bit tricky
  59. exirk (20.gxf6) I don't think there's a mate, just persistent pressure
  60. jg777 expecting hxg then h3. if Bxg3 then I think I hold with hxg because queen can't do much after Qxg3 Kh1 unless I am missing something
  61. exirk (21...gxf6) h3 is a nice little subtllety
  62. exirk (21...gxf6) white can still hold I think
  63. jg777 ok so now I have to get my pieces into play somehow
  64. jg777 now its all about keeping the pieces safe and getting activity when possible. I need a square for my knight. I don't know what I want
  65. jg777 with my rooks yet
  66. jg777 so my sorta plan is Nb3-d4 right now
  67. jg777 ok so he wants to get rid of my LSB which I expected him to want that
  68. jg777 some point Rh1 will be necessary
  69. jg777 I don't think I want my knight on d4 just yet... maybe Rae1 first?
  70. exirk (23...Be6) Nd5 looks good
  71. jg777 sometime maybe Qb6 to threaten Qf2 will happen and other things like that I need to watch out for
  72. jg777 I just don't think getting pieces active can be SO bad as long as I am not missing a clear tactical shot.
  73. jg777 I might have missed Rh5 idea. I am trying to calculate that now.
  74. jg777 Bg6 Bxh3 looks really bad for me for example
  75. jg777 ok now I want to play f4 if I ever can get away with it
  76. jg777 I need to be careful grabbing any pawns near lines of my king as it could come back to bite me quickly
  77. jg777 ok so f4 then bishop moves then Nd4 seems correct to me
  78. exirk (27...Qh6) Have to trade rooks it seems
  79. exirk (28.Re6) Ooooh this is probably more active
  80. jg777 I can probably now start thinking about taking the g3 pawn
  81. exirk (33.Kxg3) Was Rf3 necessary? maybe taking the pawn directly was better
  82. jg777 This is going to be a really difficult endgame with the queens on the board here. It's not as easy as just a simple pawn race.
  83. jg777 still have to be careful of mating nets
  84. jg777 Pretty sure black had something there with Qg7+...
  85. jg777 Yeah this is likely a lost endgame but I will see if I can swindle this
  86. jg777 at some time black will sac the rook for the H pawn and promote the c-d pawns if I am understanding this position correctly
  87. jg777 at least from how I would look at this position that is what I would be aiming for as black
  88. jg777 it's possible to win other ways as well
  89. jg777 my H pawn is only a decoy and should not have any chance to actually promote, I just need to see if I can make him sac the rook before
  90. jg777 his c-d pawns get advanced to far. and I am not seeing how to do so.
  91. Lenovsky btw there was a mate 37...Qg7+, I cant focus now xDD
  92. jg777 probably anything with Re4 Rxd should win since the c-d pawns are so fast at that point
  93. jg777 and I have to waste a move to capture a pawn
  94. jg777 Well it was not the best game of mine here
  95. jg777 I'll have to review it but I think first mistake was dxe, I needed to keep position closed
  96. jg777 But there was some good ideas to review and I am sure some missed ideas for me to sort out how I missed. Can't win them all! :)
  97. jg777 king is just to far away for me to save this game, anytime, Rdh and d-c push to promote. he is doing well.
  98. jg777 it's to bad Ra5 to h5 can't work since c5 stops that junk.
  99. jg777 but this line ultimately fails there is no real trap here to make anything work
  100. jg777 well, so long as he doesn't blunder with d2 here, but that would be a major oversight
  101. jg777 last effort for Kc3 Rc8
  102. jg777 but c5, because there is no rush for this win. he can take all time in world, I have nothing else
  103. jg777 he can play Rxh7 and it is over now
  104. jg777 but I made him show he knows the endgame technique which is not bad to do
  105. exirk (55.Rd5) Rxh7 Rxc5+?
  106. Lenovsky (55...Rxh7) let's see what I've learned at the #book-club, this pawns should win
  107. jg777 This doesn't work for me at all because Rxh7 Rxc5+ Kd4 and I have nothing else to do
  108. jg777 and of course if I take h7 immediately, then just c4, d2, Kc2, and such
  109. jg777 I don't think there are any other trick ideas I can do here, Kxh7 c4 Kg6 Kc2 Kf5 c3 Ke4 d2
  110. jg777 because my king can't cross the d file or anything so yeah, i don't see that working at all
  111. jg777 and I am 100% confident Rxc5 Kd4 loses as my king is way to far from the action and I ultimately have to sac the rook for the pawn
  112. jg777 well i guess playing a few more moves can't hurt
  113. jg777 he plays c3 here to win
  114. jg777 ok its over now
  115. Jputterg gg
  116. exirk Interesting game, very instructive for sure
  117. exirk it seems like the first positional mistake was not playign f4, which stops e5
  118. jg777 Yeah I mixed up some ideas early on. He played a different move order early on and confused some ideas.
  119. jg777 and i confused some ideas*
  120. jg777 It was definitely my worst game so far, I made a lot of mistakes both positionally and tactically. It'll be good to review and try to figure
  121. jg777 out why I missed them from a thought perspective.
  122. jg777 anyway, well played lenovsky.
  123. jg777 i'm off
  124. Lenovsky I'm open for some analysis, hit me later if u r open too ;)
  125. Lenovsky Thanks for the game ;)
  126. Lenovsky btw jg777 I've hadthe same thoughts about making this game aggressive and fun to watch
