  1. BigEvo8 surprised to see my opponent thinking so long. This Nf6 c6 line is one that paolone played against me quite a few seasons ago.
  2. BigEvo8 idea is after e3 you play Qb6 and try to exchange f-knight for f-bishop if Qc1
  3. BigEvo8 I've been playing a lot of c5 bf5 lines as black so thought I would mix it up
  4. BigEvo8 computer move after Qb6 is b3. Or at least it's the best move at low depth
  5. BigEvo8 There's a trick here if Bg5. Qa5+ wins.
  6. synapz after white wastes a tempo with the LSB is it generally a good idea to play dxc4?
  7. synapz not in this game because white won a tempo against the knight on h5
  8. god666 I know 1.d4 c6 where I do apply the same kind of setup (Qc1 with c4). I do not know if it is a big difference with Nf6 in between.
  9. god666 But now I have to play on white squares. His dev is strange and Bc8 terrible, but I cant see anything concrete. It is = or +=
  10. BigEvo8 cxd4 might not be the best here but kind of felt after Qc7 c5 might have been strong
  11. god666 13.e4 : taking some important white squares and not allowing Bd6/e5 plan. I can't see any direct breakthrough but I can dev naturally,
  12. god666 while it is hard for black to put his pieces on nice squares. I do not think pair of bishop to be relevant here as Bc8 is unemployed
  13. god666 On c5 Na4 is ok.
  14. BigEvo8 A bit too passive from me here. I guess my long term plan is that white over extends and I get something from the latent potential of the
  15. BigEvo8 bishop pair
  16. BigEvo8 but I think white can easily build up pressure here
  17. BigEvo8 So one idea I have is to swing the queen to as I don't like having it on c7 or d8. I don't really have a follow up however
  18. god666 15.a3: if c5 e5 and if cd Rxd4 I believe I have plenty of play. b5 Bd3 and e5 is also in the air, or b4 for space while black strungles
  19. god666 17.Rac1: I guess it is my last "normal" move. Now my pieces are ready, I should try to attack something. He may try to attack my 0-0 with
  20. BigEvo8 As I'm running lower on time, I think I'm going to go for b6, Bb7. I don't really see another plan.
  21. god666 e5!? but there should not be a reason why black would be better here.
  22. BigEvo8 Although b6 Qa4...
  23. BigEvo8 Maybe I'm winning e4 and b2 there though
  24. BigEvo8 So there's Ne5. But I kind of feel I have to do something here.
  25. Kerfufflecopter is it just me or is c6 now really weak?
  26. BigEvo8 Think there might be a win here after e5 Nd5 Nx cx Qc7... although maybe
  27. BigEvo8 not that clear. Have to hope I have some tactics with the queen hitting c1
  28. BigEvo8 ooh, can I play a5...
  29. BigEvo8 a5, maybe Na2 or Rb1 is best...
  30. BigEvo8 Surprised to see my opponent take. I really like b4 and b3 ideas.
  31. thrillchester Let's go BigEvo! First game on board 1!
  32. BigEvo8 so I have an idea. Ra8. Qxc6 Bd6 Qc2 then I can take on a5 or e4 I think
  33. Kerfufflecopter isn't black in trouble after e5 now?
  34. Kerfufflecopter ok, nvm
  35. BigEvo8 (22) good move by my opponent.
  36. BigEvo8 I'm going to go into the line I think.
  37. Kerfufflecopter 22. ... Rxa5 23. e5 Nd5 24. Qxc6 and problem?
  38. god666 Bc8 is a kind of really bad bishop :-O
  39. Kerfufflecopter 23. ... Nd7 might be tempting but 24. Nc4 eats away any activity black has in the queenside and the pieces on c8, d7, e8 are pretty sad
  40. god666 trick is if 23... Nd7 24.Qxc6 Nxb6? Qxe8# Hard to find an escape for black
  41. BigEvo8 huh yeah I miscalculated how bad losing the c pawn would be after this move
  42. BigEvo8 I was looking at takes first then e5
  43. BigEvo8 I think all sensible moves are losing, so have to play a little crazy.
  44. BigEvo8 Nd6 is possible but it's a trade I'll take given the bishop on a3
  45. BigEvo8 ah never mind the rook on a3 will defend
  46. BigEvo8 so if we trade into rook v rook and bishop, or bishop and h-pawn v king then it's drawn.
  47. BigEvo8 Which is why I'm playing on although I imagine my opponent will find winning ideas before that happens
  48. BigEvo8 f6 was really terrible.
  49. Gingersquirrelnuts Looks like black may have been right to play on to try for a draw here?
  50. god666 The only rule : I cant win with the h4 pawn alone. But thx to unlimited extra tempi of the bishop, I should win black pawns (& keep f2!)
  51. BigEvo8 I have a stalemate idea
  52. BigEvo8 oh wait, it'll be mate if another move is played, do'h
