  1. kobol i only know playing nf3 would have a lot of unintended side effects and would have to learn lot of new variations
  2. kobol but i will probably try at some point
  3. resonantpillow yeah it's harder to switch what you are doing once you have a sort of system down for white than it is for black
  4. kobol exactly
  5. resonantpillow i think the Nf3 trick is good to keep in mind though if you know your opponent plays something you don't like against d4 and you can try and
  6. resonantpillow move order them to a more favorable QG position
  7. resonantpillow i find a lot of people accidently commit themselves to playing a chigorin
  8. kobol currently i tend to play always the exact same openings because it just seems to much work to learn many different systems
  9. resonantpillow if you start Nf3 and quickly get into an uncomfortable position if that's not an opening they normally play
  10. resonantpillow yeah i know what you mean
  11. resonantpillow it's part of the reason i could never be an e4 player
  12. kobol same for me
  13. kobol basically i just try to avoid the sicilian
  14. kobol doesn't suit my style and tons of theory
  15. kobol that's why i don't play e4
  16. kobol and i also don't play it with black
  17. resonantpillow lol yeah if you don't like open positions the sicilian must be horrible
  18. kobol i'd rather play c4
  19. resonantpillow what do you play against e4 then, the french?
  20. kobol actually i would if it wouldn't be so much work
  21. kobol e5
  22. kobol spanish
  23. kobol it's a torture but it's solid :)
  24. resonantpillow yeah definitely solid
  25. resonantpillow i like the sicilian from the black side
  26. kobol maybe the kann
  27. resonantpillow the Kan and the Najdorf
  28. kobol kann
  29. resonantpillow yeah i play the Kan
  30. kobol damm spell correction
  31. kobol makes sense
  32. resonantpillow i would like the Najdorf more if it weren't analyzed to death
  33. kobol in the computer age it's just no viable opening
  34. resonantpillow i like the options it gives you when white tries to play the c3 or closed sicilian
  35. resonantpillow idk about that
  36. resonantpillow i think in the computer generation there are more viable openings
  37. resonantpillow it's just hard to play an opening that is really mainstream because people can be way more prepared for them
  38. kobol yeah, but all sharp openings mean endless memorization
  39. kobol yeah, and everybody plays the najdorf
  40. kobol so white will be prepared in any case
  41. resonantpillow yeah
  42. resonantpillow the Kan is nice because if white plays how they do against most of the other sicilians like going for an english attack, black is actually
  43. resonantpillow probabaly a little better
  44. resonantpillow you get so many people that just automatically go for that english set up because it works so well against all of the d6 sicilians
  45. kobol i've been considering the kan expecially against weaker players because the spanish can be too passive
  46. kobol anyway, i gotta eat something
  47. kobol thanks again for the game
  48. resonantpillow yeah thanks it was a good one
  49. metalpawn nice analysis guys
  50. ChukoDiman yeah, really interesting analysis and fantastic game
