  1. toni4127 Already out of prep lol. Only know Nx and Bf5 here (6)
  2. toni4127 I don't think boxing the bishop in is right in the caro. No idea how to punish, but active plans have to be right
  3. toni4127 He really wants me to qside castle. Trying to figure out why I shouldn't...
  4. toni4127 Rb1 doesn't quite lose btw. Nx Qx Bb4 c3 Bxc bxc and the queen in on the rook (8)
  5. toni4127 Long term concerns: a5 a4 a3, b3, and a weak c3 square
  6. toni4127 Ne5 Nxe5 dx Nxe4 Qxe4 Qxf2 Be3 Qf5. Just looks good for him
  7. toni4127 Doubling his pawns is probably the way to go. But then the dark squares hurt a lot. And I need to get into a queenless endgame asap.
  8. toni4127 a4 Qc4 would be an idea to hold on the light squares if it didn't hang the knight
  9. toni4127 Another idea: Bx gx d5 cx Rx. It's scary opening the c file. But I can bail and force queens off on b5 I think
  10. toni4127 He has the one check, but I think I'd rather the bishop be on the h6/c1 diag instead of eyeing a3.
  11. toni4127 Bc5 is an idea if he's feeling super greedy. But that looks suicidal
  12. toni4127 If he ignores and plays a4, d6 was the plan. a4 d6 Bh6 Kb1 a3 b3 Qc5 is a bit hairy. But I don't see mates
  13. toni4127 Rd8 looks forced. Next plan is probably h4 g4 g5 in some order
  14. toni4127 On e5, debating Rg1 vs Nh4 angling for f5
  15. toni4127 Actually. e4 g5 is possible too bc the pawn's overloaded
  16. toni4127 f5 gx Bxc Rg1+ (Bg7 f6) looks fine
  17. toni4127 On a good day, Qe4 Bd3 plans could be annoying
  18. toni4127 Not planning to touch the g pawn for a while. If he wants to open the a1/h8 diag, he needs to open the g file
  19. toni4127 a3 looks super weird, but where's the light square punish if I do it? Not seeing a good way to open lines for him either
  20. toni4127 The b pawn's a turtle
  21. toni4127 Ra5 (planning to Rb5 me), just Qe4. If Qxf Bd3, initiative looks like it's worth more than a pawn
  22. toni4127 Haven't figured out if queen trades favor me. The d pawn looks tricky to hold onto in an endgame
  23. toni4127 Not feeling great about h4. Getting to h6 is annoying, but it feels slow and cheap
  24. toni4127 Avoiding Bg2 since the dream is to land it on d3
  25. toni4127 h5 or g5 here...
  26. toni4127 Actually. Be6 Qb3 is that light square punish I said didn't exist...
  27. toni4127 Qe4 Qxf Bd3 looks fine. Probably gonna cut back on chatting, btw. Time...
  28. toni4127 I was talking about how his lsb was stuck, but mine's been awful all game too
  29. toni4127 Think he had to sac a pawn at some point anyway to shut down the diagonal. Then f6. But yuuck.
  30. toni4127 f6 huge threat
  31. toni4127 For anybody without a pair of eyes that needed that commentary...
  32. toni4127 Qd5 I think still f6. Qx fx and it's still a bishop
  33. toni4127 gg. Sorry for flooding (spamming) the chat
  34. jcarmody Please put all of your thoughts into the chat during all of your games. It helps me learn!
  35. rapiplay i couldn't decide between c5
  36. jcarmody Also, comment during games you watch. 'specially if you're watching me play (board 8).
  37. rapiplay i think i had c5 a few times but just couldn't decide when to play it
  38. toni4127 Before or after my pawn was on d6?
  39. rapiplay after
  40. toni4127 Also sure, you're welcome jcarmody.
  41. rapiplay c5 to stop Nd4 and to liberate the bishop
  42. toni4127 Not sure. I think the bishop wanted to be on e6
  43. toni4127 Maneuvering it through b5 to... somewhere... looks hard to do
  44. rapiplay i had to push one of the pawns, just pushed the wrong one
  45. toni4127 If you just keep it on c6, I don't think it's a breat piece. I'd move my rook to g1 and harrass your kingside light squares
  46. toni4127 *great
  47. toni4127 Maybe. The a pawn push looked like the right plan... was scary. Wasn't positive that a3 would shut down your attack
  48. toni4127 Looks like SF disagrees though. 15...c5 and you have a pretty big edge
  49. toni4127 Maybe your lsb is good on c6 after all. I can't punish your kside light squares if the queen never gets to e4
  50. rapiplay in the end i missed the Qe4 Bd3 batterym i was expecting something like BC4 and I would have taken on f5. Probably still losing though
  51. rapiplay anyway i'm off thanks for the game. Hopefully I can play in this 90+30 series that's starting
  52. rapiplay need more classical and less blitz :)
  53. toni4127 Yeah. Another thing, I need to look at more positions like what I had on 11. d5 sort of opens your king, but not really
  54. toni4127 I think if I'd done that g4 h4 push earlier and kept the d pawn controlling the center, you wouldn't have had as much play
  55. toni4127 Agree, I'm guilty of too much blitz lately too lol
