  1. mfink1 as white its still a mixed bag
  2. mfink1 last tournament I played a QGD
  3. mfink1 2 QGDs actually
  4. mfink1 I've also been tryig out the colle on blitz games
  5. mfink1 pretty cool system
  6. CaptNCarter i don't know about the colle
  7. mfink1 it was also in a book i just finished
  8. mfink1 it`s a system
  9. mfink1 so you can play it against almost anything
  10. CaptNCarter might have to look it up
  11. CaptNCarter i bought some beginner books. so i have like logical chess move by move i still need to read
  12. mfink1 you play d4, bd3, e3, nf3, 0-0, re1 nbd2 and then push e4
  13. mfink1 that's the book i just finished
  14. mfink1 the colle is featured in there quite a bit
  15. CaptNCarter oh really i can just read this then
  16. mfink1 i'm reading my system now by nimzowitch
  17. CaptNCarter i bought amateur to im by jonathon hawkins also
  18. mfink1 cool
  19. CaptNCarter it seems pretty good for end games but im only like one chapter in
  20. mfink1 logical chess move by move was interesting
  21. mfink1 he's pretty rigid at times
  22. mfink1 but i think he explains things pretty well
  23. CaptNCarter so its worth the read for sure?
  24. mfink1 yeah
  25. mfink1 i liked it
  26. mfink1 but it does take some time to get through
  27. mfink1 need to set up a board and read it with th eboard in front of you
  28. mfink1 or an eboard on a computer or ipad or something
  29. mfink1 but that's the case with all chess books
  30. mfink1 at leastfor me
  31. CaptNCarter oh really thanks for the advice
  32. CaptNCarter any other books you recommend for the future?
  33. mfink1 my system
  34. mfink1 is a classic
  35. mfink1 people say you have to read it
  36. mfink1 but it's written in 1920 or something
  37. mfink1 so a lot of the examples he gives aren't perfect
  38. mfink1 it's really good so far though
  39. mfink1 and I have silman's endgame course too
  40. CaptNCarter yeah im hesitant to read things that old just because the moves not be as accurate at they thought
  41. mfink1 ya
  42. mfink1 i'd still read it though
  43. mfink1 the concepts are still corect
  44. mfink1 correct
  45. mfink1 he talks about outposts, the passed pawn, play on the 7th and 8th ranks etc
  46. mfink1 concepts that are still core today
  47. mfink1 alright
  48. mfink1 I'm outta here
  49. mfink1 good game
  50. mfink1 see ya around, feel free to challenge anytime for a game
