  1. Yakruna30 hi chat
  2. washedup0810 hey!
  3. Sqlc sup
  4. Yakruna30 Could somebody be so kind to explain why black decided for 4...dxc4? isn't it better to keep tension there, since he can still defend d4pawn
  5. washedup0810 I don't know much about the QGD/QGA, but usually it's better to keep the tension unless there is a clear justification to not.
  6. Yakruna30 thanks for the answer mate
  7. washedup0810 and i fully proved I have no idea about d4/d5 as it's the Slav Defense: Czech Variation, and not the QGA lmao
  8. ChessPriyome Hi folks It's 6 am
  9. Yakruna30 hi
  10. ehGolden congrats on yesterday's opening match victory @ChessPriyome
  11. ChessPriyome Thanks. Fun stuff.
  12. ChessPriyome Carlsen, Anand and Kasparov have all taken on c4 in that position.
  13. Yakruna30 Great for them, but I still don't see why is it better than keeping tension, so I am asking if somebody can explain
  14. ChessPriyome Maybe the idea is if white plays a4 like he did he gives up control of b4.
  15. ChessPriyome so e6 and Bb4 follow
  16. washedup0810 it seems to me Black has equalised already, if not better
  17. Yakruna30 ye, that could be the idea behind it
  18. Yakruna30 thanks chesspriyome
  19. ChessPriyome Yes sir, you are welcome.
  20. ChessPriyome The qside pawn structure for white is asking for a minority attack but black is saddled in there pretty good.
  21. Yakruna30 white has knight pair but both knights seem underwhelming
  22. Yakruna30 maybe Na2 with intention of driving back black's dark bishop and then moving queen away
  23. Yakruna30 in order to start pushing pawns on qside
  24. ChessPriyome f6 is obvious but
  25. ChessPriyome so Nd3 Bd6 after that.
  26. washedup0810 f6 may allow e4
  27. washedup0810 with complications
  28. ChessPriyome seems to drop a pawn, no?
  29. washedup0810 yes, but it also opens up the black king a bit and you have to give up the bishop pair
  30. ChessPriyome i see. e4 here now?
  31. washedup0810 idk, i think e4 is stronger when the a2-g8 diagonale is opened up to pin d5
  32. ChessPriyome though, I would not say having knights in this semi-closed position is the worst thing.
  33. ChessPriyome or rather, having the nights
  34. washedup0810 fair
  35. ChessPriyome knights* guh
  36. ChessPriyome so the idea behind Rfd1 Ne5 was to reroute the Knight to d3. Now white has to make king position pawns moves which is never really good.
  37. washedup0810 agreed
  38. washedup0810 black has the luxury of too many tempting moves here
  39. ChessPriyome black has piece superiority towards the kingside. White probably needs to react in the centre or queenside asap.
  40. ChessPriyome that was a funny trade giving up the B-pair due to an idle threat.
  41. washedup0810 Bxc5 seems wrong to me too
  42. ChessPriyome Qe7 made sense there
  43. washedup0810 takes away quite some attacking chances
  44. Yakruna30 i think white got out of potential deadlock now
  45. Yakruna30 deadlock as in, soon to be crushed by one move or 4 another lmao
  46. ChessPriyome b6 lever
  47. Yakruna30 why rook e5, what's the idea
  48. washedup0810 attacking the King with something along the lines of Rh5, Bf3, Qh3
  49. Yakruna30 i see, thanks
  50. Yakruna30 what would you play here, boys
  51. Yakruna30 as black
  52. Yakruna30 doesn't look good for white
  53. washedup0810 yes, it looks like checkmate in a few
  54. washedup0810 i would have started with Bf3 i think
  55. washedup0810 threatening Re1 and Qh3
  56. washedup0810 seems like this was forced mate :D
  57. washedup0810 gg
  58. Yakruna30 gg
  59. Yakruna30 thanks for company boys
  60. ehGolden gg
  61. Yakruna30 27 average centipawn loss for Black
  62. Yakruna30 very solid play
  63. plastic_pusher thanks
  64. Yakruna30 wp to both, very insteresting game, seems like white is in a pickle a few times, but manages to keep it relatively tight most of the game
  65. plastic_pusher If Bf3 then Nxd5
  66. plastic_pusher I thought Wh had solved it with e4
  67. plastic_pusher the P capture wasn't deliberated on long enough
  68. Yakruna30 yeah
  69. Yakruna30 played it straight away
  70. Yakruna30 plastic, care to explain what was your idea with Re5
  71. plastic_pusher Had plenty of my time to think on, but that doesn't have the same emotional freight
  72. Yakruna30 the thought process about the move
  73. plastic_pusher Fish doesn't like it.. I was thinking of swinging across to h-file
  74. plastic_pusher or Bf3 Rf4 Rf5
  75. plastic_pusher it also shores up d5 against sac of N
  76. plastic_pusher Don't understand why Fish likes h5
  77. plastic_pusher protects B, gives up on h-file
  78. Yakruna30 thanks for the explanation
  79. plastic_pusher Fish suggesting weird computer moves, Nb1!!
  80. Yakruna30 who would've thought of that :D
  81. plastic_pusher anyway, pleased with the outcome, bye!
  82. Yakruna30 bye!
