RK and Me - by Yehonatan-Chess

Chess variantOpeningTournamentLichess
I've been playing racing kings for years, competing in hundreds of tournaments along the way and climbed up the leaderboard. Before I retire, I am sharing with you my studies explaining RK openings, positions and more! Read on to explore my RK achievements and find helpful studies!

Analyzing games and learning from mistakes was something I learned long after I began playing racing kings. I loved the variant, but was not good at it. I played the same opening. I did not care to learn what I did not know.

TIP: Don't copy my mistakes

Explanation? Here: Do not play the same openings again and again, you never know what your opponenet will play, so you always have to be ready. You'll learn more variations, more moves, in different openings.

The most played openings are:

  1. Kg3
  2. Nxc2
  3. Bd4
  4. Kh3

It is very important to understand each one of these openings. To help you do this, check out this study:

Knowing these 4 openings helped me very much.
With this knowledge, I have:

Won the shield twice (the only times I have ever played the whole tournament :)) - Links: https://lichess.org/tournament/YQHMyNkM and https://lichess.org/tournament/JIDt8EPT

And came 21st place in the RK revolution, even though I only played for 4 - 7 hours - https://lichess.org/tournament/AxoMgWbd

3rd place in the yearly tournament is good as well I think :) - https://lichess.org/tournament/JVMTZFNJ

But I'm mostly proud of the fact that my highest rank in racing kings was #3, with a rating of 2353 (1 year ago).

Last year I created one of the most active and popular racing kings team, "Racing Kings Kings". Join here: https://lichess.org/team/racing-kings-kings

See my RK studies here, most of them are about Racing Kings and were made to help you: https://lichess.org/study/by/Yehonatan-Chess

For those who don't know, I am retiring. RK was really something that I won't forget. I will be playing sometimes, but not as much as I used too.

If you have any requests, feel free to send me a message :)
