chess wasn't always "chess" it started as chaturanga but now the only people who play that are chess.com ppl.
basically this one guy decided that he was bored and made early chees :o
later these other guys were like, lets update this im bored, so everyone was just like "yeaaa"
anyways those guys made modern day chess

in the like 1950s some smart dude (arpad elo) made the elo system, which is what we use now (neeerddd)
anyways, a few smart prodigy guys came in and then revolutionized the game (magno carcar) (fabric ca r)11!

quarantine made people want to play chess and now it is as big as ever! it is only so long until some random nerd comes along and makes a new version of chess!!
