  1. KaiM_03 ya after you dropped the pawn your position was crumbling I think
  2. Scott9315 yeah. i think long castles might have been a bit much too
  3. KaiM_03 even before that when you played Bb4 and allow me to trade I don't think you can hang on to the pawn after Qg6
  4. KaiM_03 yes long castles seems a bit dubious
  5. KaiM_03 with the open file and all that
  6. Scott9315 I had all intentions of playing kb2 but I just never got around to it
  7. KaiM_03 your f6 move was interesting but it seemed a bit too weakening to me
  8. KaiM_03 that was an important move I think
  9. Scott9315 yeah i liked f6 at the time cuz I really needed to get more pressure on that d4 pawn
  10. KaiM_03 like maybe Kb8 after I played B2
  11. KaiM_03 Bb2*
  12. KaiM_03 right
  13. KaiM_03 But it seems like that's kind of playing on the wrong side of the board don't you think? cause your centre pawns are pointing towards the
  14. KaiM_03 queen side
  15. Scott9315 are you talking about how all my pieces got stuck on the queen side?
  16. KaiM_03 no like normally the direction your centre pawns are pointing dictates which side of the board you are supposed to play on so I was thinking
  17. KaiM_03 that maybe you should try and bring more pieces to that side instead of playing f6
  18. Scott9315 oh Makes sense!
  19. KaiM_03 although its harder for you to play on that side after you traded your c pawn
  20. Scott9315 yeah f3 is looking like it was just a horrible move
  21. Scott9315 i was getting scared that my poor horse didn't have anything to do LOL
  22. KaiM_03 what was your reasoning behind trading the c pawn?
  23. KaiM_03 ya it was hard to develop
  24. Scott9315 so thats actually something thats in my Caro Kann repitoire
  25. Scott9315 hell I think its even in this variation
  26. KaiM_03 ahh ok
  27. Scott9315 but the idea is to just play knight c6 and queen b3 and make it hard for you to develop your dark bishop
  28. KaiM_03 I have just heard that its not a great idea to be the one breaking the tension in the centre
  29. KaiM_03 but if its theory than its probably fine
  30. Scott9315 well idk if its theory
  31. Scott9315 but its in gothams course sooooo thats where I picked it up
  32. KaiM_03 right right
  33. Scott9315 I'd never seen anyone route the knight in front of that b2 pawn though
  34. KaiM_03 you fully surprised me with your Caro Kann opening tho
  35. Scott9315 and now that I'm looking, the computer likes a5 which seems a bit obvious now that I see the arrow on the screen
  36. Scott9315 really? I think its my most played opening against e4
  37. KaiM_03 yes that makes a lot of sense
  38. Scott9315 I switch it up between the caro and the scandi- I saw you played roy lopez and I had a line prepared but I didn't think I had the capacity
  39. Scott9315 to learn a whole new opening in a week
  40. KaiM_03 when I put your name into openings tree it said Sicilian and scandi where your main ones
  41. Scott9315 I do play accelerated dragon but against worse players lol
  42. KaiM_03 were*
  43. KaiM_03 so I was fully expecting a sicilian
  44. Scott9315 I do try to keep things diverse. do you face sicilian often?
  45. KaiM_03 in rapid yes not so much in classical
  46. Scott9315 hmmm. I'll probably add it back to my repitoire
  47. Scott9315 it was my main opening like right after I watched the queens gambit and needed something against e4
  48. KaiM_03 I normally play the smith morra gambit against it but this time I was going to play the open sicilian
  49. Scott9315 but I've definitely kind of tossed it aside as I've climbed because better players know the theory better than I do
  50. KaiM_03 exactly its a difficult opening at lower levels
  51. KaiM_03 how do you like the Caro Kann?
  52. Scott9315 I love it. I think its a great way to tell a roy lopez player that they aren't having any fun this game
  53. KaiM_03 hahaha
  54. KaiM_03 I used to play the Caro Kann as black all the time but I have switched to e5 very recently
  55. Scott9315 I am probably better booked up on the scandi, but you're a superior player and the scandi opens the board and that scared the hell outta me
  56. KaiM_03 I just found the Kann to be very hard to play as black
  57. KaiM_03 it just felt too cramped
  58. Scott9315 What do you do with e5? it feels like there are too many variations to prepare for- Italian, spanish, and scotch
  59. KaiM_03 right now im just winging it and learning as I go
  60. Scott9315 lol gotcha
  61. Scott9315 Well thanks for the game, i think I'm going to bounce
  62. KaiM_03 ya gg and good luck with your chess
  63. Scott9315 Any chance I can give you a follow and maybe I could work on a few things in the future?
  64. KaiM_03 for sure
  65. Scott9315 Sounds good dude. Thanks for the match
  66. Scott9315 Take it easy! GL with the rest of the league
  67. KaiM_03 thanks
