  1. Prune2000 Wait, wasn't the Bishop on b5 pinning the knight to the rook?
  2. Pasternak Yes... he missed it!
  3. Pasternak linail plays very fast :(
  4. Prune2000 But... why did he play it then..? I'm confused :D
  5. Pasternak or maybe he was worried about this line
  6. Prune2000 perhaps.
  7. Pasternak 19 Bxe8 Nf3+! 20. gxf3 Qg5+
  8. Pasternak But that's actually leading nowhere I guess
  9. Pasternak Oh... as a matter of fact he can't escape!
  10. Prune2000 yes, Qg5+ looks pretty good
  11. Prune2000 might have been the right choice
  12. Pasternak oh he can: 21 Kf1 Bxf3 22 Bxf7+ Kxf7 23. Qa5 Qg2+ 24 Ke1 Qg1+ 25 Kd2 Qxf2+
  13. Pasternak And it's complicated now...
  14. Pasternak Maybe white saw a mate... I don't see it though... It's dangeours
  15. Prune2000 tough to read, I understand his choice now
  16. Pasternak gerous*
  17. Pasternak Rc7 looks nice
  18. Pasternak and then f3 or h3 to give some air to the king
  19. Pasternak Rb7 must be enough to draw. the king cannot invade via g2 h3 g4 f5 without losing f7... and if he advances f7 white gets rid of the doub
  20. Pasternak pawns
  21. White offers draw
  22. Draw offer accepted
  23. linail Hope y'all enjoyed this
  24. EsolcNeveton Oh wow that is a boring graph. :P
  25. linail Well the game was pretty quiet afterall
  26. EsolcNeveton I don't think I've ever played against a Grunfeld on lichess before. I was pretty much out of book after move 6.
  27. EsolcNeveton I should check my repertoire once I'm back home.
  28. linail Hm, you did well then, props to you :)
  29. EsolcNeveton Thanks. :P I guess I'm going to spend an hour or so trying to understand what makes 16.d5 such a good move.
  30. EsolcNeveton I'm fairly certain I dismissed it because it isn't even threatening to take the c6-knight.
  31. linail Well i thought Bg4 wouldve been a strong enough counterplay
  32. linail Apparently it wasn't
  33. linail I was so hoping you would fall for that Rook-Trap after Move 18
  34. EsolcNeveton Hahaha I was fairly certain I shouldn't take the rook on e8 before I played 18.Ne5. :P
  35. linail Is it just me or was this game kinda dead? Besides that "trap" with the rook i didn't see any play at all
  36. linail Part of the reason why i played so fast, every move seemed pretty straight forward
  37. EsolcNeveton Yeah, the game didn't suit my style at all. :P
  38. EsolcNeveton Once we got to the endgame, I got really nervous though since those are my biggest weakness.
  39. linail Well considering you were a pawn up but down on time i was pretty certain it was a dead draw
  40. linail Especially since it was a double
  41. EsolcNeveton Yeah. I know how to convert a Lucena position, but I had no clue how to make any progress after the bishops were gone.
