  1. GnarlyGoat yeah, I think it was 26.h6 that swung the pendulum
  2. GnarlyGoat it kind of kills your momentum on the Kingside
  3. GnarlyGoat Okay so in terms of the opening, I was well and truly on trodden ground
  4. GnarlyGoat I was surprised you went for the mainline TBH, I figured you'd have played an alapin, which was the only thing I had prepped
  5. Droodjerky Amazing there was nothing for white in the endgame
  6. GnarlyGoat everything up until move ten was something I've played a bunch of times before
  7. GnarlyGoat on move 10 I was 99.99% sure that Qa5 was the right move, but I didn't like the looks of the pawn sac
  8. GnarlyGoat after a while though I managed to find enough compensation
  9. GnarlyGoat THe line I was looking at the most was 11.exd5 cxd5 12.Nxd5 Qxa2 13.Nxe7+ Kh8 14.Qb4 Be6
  10. GnarlyGoat I figured with both bishops + queen staring at your king I had enough for the pawn
  11. GnarlyGoat wasn't 100% certain, but my developemnt would have been enough compensation I think
  12. Droodjerky At what point did I have a pawn?
  13. GnarlyGoat if you had played 11.exd5
  14. Droodjerky I don't win a pawn there
  15. GnarlyGoat in the line I linked you are up a pawn
  16. GnarlyGoat In terms of the middle game, I think its because white doesn't have a lot of space to build a big attack
  17. GnarlyGoat and my bishop on e6 glues my position together I think
  18. GnarlyGoat you probably could try and launch an attack, but it'd take too long to get rolling
  19. GnarlyGoat that game was real tough
  20. GnarlyGoat it was well played right up unitl the very end where we both ended up in time issues
  21. Droodjerky I don't understand at all how Black holds on :/
