  1. Zubenelgenubi lepertoe!
  2. Zubenelgenubi hi Hysth!
  3. Hysth Hiya!
  4. Hysth 3-3 huh, seems like we're pretty well matched so far ;)
  5. Zubenelgenubi and very nice games too
  6. Hysth Yeah. Except for mine, just straight into a pretty drawn endgame :D
  7. Hysth But most of em have been really great
  8. Zubenelgenubi yours was the only one I missed so far
  9. Hysth not much to see. I had two difficult-to-spot winning chances in a king & pawn endgame and we drew by repetition
  10. Zubenelgenubi this looks like a healthy start for our captain
  11. Hysth sure does. Already looks a tad awkward for black
  12. feskslo 21...Bxc4 I think is necessary, looks natural to move the knight towards the center, but white will then trade
  13. feskslo Maybe I'm wrong though, 22.b3 and knight can reroute Na5 -> Nc6 and avoid the trade
  14. scvrf Play should be simple for white though
  15. feskslo For sure. Even if the time advantage is quite significant, there shouldnt be a problem playing this quickly from here
  16. scvrf Yes. Even if the a pawn falls.
  17. Hysth yeah. I wonder if our Birdsell might be underusing the time a tad
  18. scvrf Well he got back in the game. Before 18.Bxa6 black was completely lost
  19. Hysth Yeah 100%
  20. Hysth Great play to get back in it for sure
  21. scvrf But now mass trades ensue
  22. feskslo I'm not big on the endgames but this is not THAT simple to convert, the time can be a big factor from here
  23. scvrf True
  24. feskslo 2 extra pawns but they
  25. feskslo are not passed pawns yet
  26. Hysth True. In my game - and not being familiar with this timecontrol - i completely underestimated how much calculation these endgames require :D
  27. Hysth So maybe Birdsell is genuisely saving time to crush in the endgame!!
  28. scvrf If rooks are traded then I think it's an easy win
  29. scvrf Being up pawns on both sides of the board
  30. scvrf Now Rd1 followed by f3 and bring up the king
  31. feskslo now c6!?
  32. feskslo (after 33...Ba6 for posterity)
  33. feskslo or even b6
  34. Hysth doesnt b5 trap the bishop? Or lose the exchange at least
  35. feskslo yeah I meant b5 not b6
  36. feskslo better to give Rxd4 and take Bxb5 than to let the bishop fall for free I suppose
  37. Hysth gg all!
  38. feskslo gg!
