  1. BigEvo8 Move 19 - first time seeing the position since the opening. What are the spectator's thoughts?
  2. Lacery White bishop is doing surprisingly good job at keeping the D5 knight at bay and protecting b4 at the same time
  3. Lacery It feels like g4 was very unnecessary from white, but there isnt a clear way to exploit that I guess
  4. xempcc Seems fine for black as long as he maintains d5 control
  5. Lacery By the way, could black have played Nxe5 at move 13?
  6. Lacery Threatening the queen and exposing the d5 knight to the queens attack at the same time
  7. Lacery That way black wouldnt have lost a pawn, but that might have resulted in a queen trade on d5 leaving black with an isolated pawn
  8. BigEvo8 Do you mean 13. ... exd5? If so, it's a move I suppose, although Nb6-c4 might be an issue?
  9. xempcc After g6 i dont see how white makes any progress with this bad bishop
  10. Lacery No I mean 13. ... Nxe5, the knight on d5 would be under attack and to me it seems that it doesnt matter if white retakes with 14. dxe5 or
  11. Lacery Ah nevermind
  12. Lacery White would always have Nxe7 with check
  13. Lacery What do you think, should black just go g6 here? Seemingly it would block the king side pretty much, wouldnt it?
  14. BigEvo8 Oh I see.
  15. BigEvo8 g6 looks fine. The more light squares your pawns are on in the Caro-Kann the better lol
  16. Lacery What is the purpose of Qe4 here?
  17. BigEvo8 I think it's just a move.
  18. BigEvo8 *just a waiting move
  19. BigEvo8 Ooh... cool tactic possibly coming up if Qd3
  20. BigEvo8 Or Qe3
  21. Lacery Qxd4?
  22. BigEvo8 Yup
  23. Lacery Indeed
  24. Lacery Well that just blunders d4 now doesnt it?
  25. BigEvo8 Yeah - and the knight on h4 is attacked
  26. BigEvo8 Don't really see many good moves for white. Ng2 maybe and give up e5 to stay in the game?
  27. Lacery Another cool tactic possible here
  28. BigEvo8 Be3 seems good. If Qxe5 you can play Nf3 and then if the queen stays on the diagonal you've got Bd4
  29. Lacery Qc4, white moves *something* and if it allows Ne2! that wins the queen
  30. BigEvo8 Qc4's a great move
  31. BigEvo8 Does black have a perpetual here?
  32. Lacery It would seem so, but hardly worth taking right now
  33. Lacery Black is up in rating by 92 points and still has a lot of chances
  34. Black offers draw
  35. White declines draw
  36. Lacery I think the perpetual can be blocked though
  37. Lacery Trading queens might benefit black, wouldnt it? There's no perpetual through Qd1 cause white queen can always block
  38. Lacery Except if Qh3+ ?
  39. BigEvo8 Qh3 I was wondering if you could play Ke2
  40. BigEvo8 White needs to slow down
  41. Lacery Whoa, Whats going on
  42. cid772 yikes
  43. BigEvo8 ?
