It would be cool if lichess TV spectators could chat about the game. Just a thought.
kibitzing bullet games is pointless. But when we have TV channels, then yeah classical chess will have a chat.
Just wondering how chat would work on lichess TV - on a per game basis that would stick to each game in question, or a constant, overall chat akin to something like IRC, hitbox or Twitch chat?
it depends upon what the goal of lichess tv is but i will still offer my opinion from an about average chess player; i would discourage the showing of the faster time controls than say 2/1. i suspect these games are difficult at best for most of us to appreciate what is going on. an active chat can really create a welcoming and hospital place people want to stay and become part of a community. i am not sure the fast time controls are conducive to this pattern. if you have data for the ratings of people that typically watch the lichess tv as well as the ratings of those that chat perhaps it would steer you in a better direction?
sorry for derailing this thread a little but i do ask some questions which would allow me to provide additional feedback. if the goal is active and numerous viewers i would encourage you tailor the feature to the average chess player?
