Favorite Opponents

Hi so I think there is a glitch in the player's favorite opponents list. In that list it shows the correct favorite opponents but the incorrect number of games that u have played with said opponent. Here is an example from one of my favorite opponents and personal buddies. On my favorite opponents list, it says that I played 53 games with the user Narahari28 when really, we have played 103 games as shown by the advanced search and the cross table http://en.lichess.org/games/search?players.a=LordButternoodles&players.b=Narahari28 Is this a glitch of some sort that lichess knows about?

This is a glitch, for sure. I looked in yours and found it in the code.

There is a glitch, lord butter. Under my favorite opponent list, that time when we were at 50ish games, it said we've only played 14. Now it's accurate,I think

I strongly suspect that the Favorite Opponents bug is date related.

Examples:
Zeitnot appears as 7 games on my Favorite Opponent list. We've actually played 12 games (http://en.lichess.org/games/search?players.a=Arcticpenguin&players.b=Zeitnot) but only 7 since March, 2015.
chess_59 appears as 5 games on my Favorite Opponent list. We've actually played 9 games (http://en.lichess.org/games/search?players.a=Arcticpenguin&players.b=chess_59) but only 5 since March, 2015
I've played 32 games with FunFarFun (http://en.lichess.org/games/search?players.a=Arcticpenguin&players.b=funfarfun) but he doesn't show up on my Favorite opponent list at all. Our last game was December 2014.

I think at some point between December 2014 and March 2015, the game count for Favorite Opponents reset. The list is now populated by Favorite Opponents counting only games played after ~March, 2015 (or some time around there).

I agree with the above, it's related to date (similar to the bug that only finds the most recent forum posts in your profile)

I have played 45 games with nikrik (http://en.lichess.org/games/search?players.a=Arcticpenguin&players.b=Zeitnot%29), but my profile says I've played 21. It seems to be registering since 4/29/2015.

Many others that I've played do not show up on the list at all, like a friend "cafestream": 33 games played in advanced search, the most recent is on 4/30/2015, but he does not show up in "favorite opponents" at all.

Perhaps there's a link between the forum issues and the favorites list??? Hmmmm Very Interesting

this is definitely a bug, i hate all my opponents equally and therefore have no favorite.

The recent forum posts issue has been solved already.

Dash/hyphen in usernames have been solved already.

Favorite opponents only consider last 1000 games, this is mainly for performance/resource reasons. Another argument is that if you stopped playing someone then they aren't one of your favorites anymore.

The number of games is used for sorting. If it showed number of all games, but still sorted by the last 1000 games then people would think the sorting to be bugged. One reason to only consider last 1000 games when sorting favorite opponents is that it makes sense if we were to display a list of friends to challenge (especially for correspondence).

The only issue I see is that it doesn't communicate how it sorts/counts.
