After the latest update to the lichess Android app, I always get the error message "Can not read data from server" whenever I try to login or watch lichess TV. I'm using Android version 5.1.1 on a Google Nexus 4. My lichess app is version 2.1.1.
The odd thing is that I always get this error message when trying to connect to lichess via my cellular network connection (HSPA I think), but only sometimes when connecting from my WiFi network.

I get the same issue when connecting from my iPhone.
I also have timeouts during games, which prevent me from playing and I get the feeling it is not because of my internet
connection but because of the servers.
This only happened recently.
At the top were it says reconnecting when you loose connection it also some Network error from time to time. I've never had this problems before.
I hope this gets solved soon or magically repairs itself. xD

The lichess servers are experiencing some issues these days, I guess it might be related to that? I also bet that the dev(s) are working on fixing the problems! :)
I'm still seeing this, even after the latest lichess Android app update. Only now it says something like "No network connection" before the part about "Can not read data from server".
lichess version: 2.3.0
I have the same issue - Android version 2.4.0 on LTE don't connect - but works allways on Wifi.
If i am on a Celluar Network, no Server connection...
Phone: OnePlus 2 with Android 5.1.1
Just testet this on my LG G2 on Android 5.0.2 - it don't have this problem...
Now testet on Android version 2.5.2 also.. Still the same problem on my OnePlus2
I still have this problem with version 3.1.0 and has also had it in version 2.x. It works fine with Wifi, but not with mobile network 2G / 3G / 4G - It does not work on my OnePlus 2 (or OnePlus 1) but works fine on my LG G2. OnePlus have both been with Android 5.x and Android 6.0.1
Hi again - still problems without WIFI - now with version 4.0.1 and Android 6.0.1 on my OnePlus 2 - I do get notifications via Mobile 2/3/4G but when I start the APP the info on TOP is "? players" and "? games in play" the move i noted with the checker in the top right corner"
Hi again - Looks like the v.4.3.0 update fixed the problem?
Works on Android 6.0.1 on my OnePlus 3 now :-)
