Never mind. I understand the issue now. You should be able to remove check by exploding the queen. Thanks, I've raised an issue on github (github.com/ornicar/lila/issues/240) and will attempt to fix the bug tomorrow.

good point - but I missed it - can't imagine I should be forced to play the winning move! :D
I rolled back that change.
