Opinions on puzzle underpromotion?

It's apparent to me that pawn promotion in the puzzles is not selectable, i.e. when you move a pawn to the eighth rank, you are going to get the promotion that suits the puzzle. I understand that changing this to a selectable promotion could be a difficult software task.

I wonder what the consensus of the community is? I would rather have the promotion selectable, because many times that's the key to a puzzle position. For instance, in this game, an autopromotion to knight is made:

Yet a review of the game shows that the player promoted to queen instead and was promptly checkmated. So what are your thoughts?
I think it's fine the way it is for one simple reason, you'd only promote that pawn if you thought it was the correct sequence. If anyone actually intended on promoting it to a queen then they got lucky, which is not much different then getting lucky in solving a puzzle by following a sequence that looks ok without thoroughly checking (since black would have mate in 1 after a queen promotion).
